Hi guys,

I've been researching the 8 for a while now, and am pretty convinced its the beast for me. My circumstances are a little bit complicated, and I'd appreciate your wise counsel:
I want to take delivery of the car in July, and I want to use a non-Mazda (ie non 13% APR) finance company. Obviously to get it in July, I'm going to need to order pretty sharpish. Thing is, while I can stretch to a couple of large for a deposit, the full 10K that I want to put down for PCP won't be feasible until July...
Any ideas about what my next move is? Do I need to talk to dealers or finance companies to get a vehicle secured, and am I going to have to lay down the full deposit now?

Your help much appreciated!

Will.

We've all only paid a £1000 deposit so far, unless we've taken delivery of the car.

You dont have to finance it through mazda, get a loan/open mortgage or whatever.

Sure, but was that only because you guys pre-ordered, or are the dealers still operating that scheme?

If you order now for delivery in July, you will only have to pay a small deposit.

Thanks guys.

I gave Lex a call. People who are ordering now can expect delivery in Feb 04. They wanted a £200 holding fee for a delivery in July, with the rest of the deposit payable two weeks before delivery.
Just need to check round the companies and see who'll quote me lowest now...

Mazda quoted me 4% flat rate finance, which is actually pretty competetive.

yeah that's pretty dang good considering you can earn more interest on your savings (www.ingdirect.com)! I'm after PCP though, or MultiOption as Mazda call it. Don't see the point in owning such a depreciating asset... I'll have my fun for three years then review the situation.
