I'm getting my kit painted in the next couple of months our show season start sin April.. I don't know who we have showing this year.

I think the Evo IX and Subaru my 8 are going.. I don't remember though. and I don't know who is going to be ready or not. I know we need to have at least one 8 present.. If mine is still beat up we could most likely use yours. we dont do the actual competition but you can register for that on your own. its more for magazine, sponsors, models on your cars, etc. and its one of the few times being myspace's car club helps out.

Yup this is it for now, i just installed it, to make sure everythings good uhh...i had to take off the plastice molding for the hatch of the truck in ordrer to get this huge as box in, now i have to take everything back out and take off my tire rack and push the box towards the rear seats and use some black L brackets to keep the box in place, that'd be another day. For those of you wondering whether the vibration is gonna kill my amp? Uh i have warranty on all my crap, and on the subwoofer, the owner where i bought it told me "try and blow it",???, pretty easy install, took me about 30 minutes. I get no trunk rattle only my license plate sounds like its gonna fly off, but im gonna dynomat later when i take everything back out. ill just get the license plate dynomat for now. One thing i noticed after a hard day of beating down the block is that the colored plastic covers for my side mirrors are a little loose now, they sound like marracas....im gonna have to glue them back tight. I spent only $500 flat. $230 woofer, $120 amp, $20 RCA converter, $70 box, and the rest on cable, battery fuse, crimp connectors.

its an all day event...last year we showed up like around 12

You may want to stick the power wire through the grommet or give it it's own hole + grommet it looks like it's kind of tightly stretched here.

well in that pic the grommet is pushed in so i would be able to run the cable, i have to pop it back out and it'd be fine or ill just give the cable its own hole and put a smaller rubber grommet for it to pass through.

the Grommet was probably the hardest part of the install, took me like 5 min, that thing is on there good, some stiff ass rubber.

Hell yeah the grommet is a pain in the ass, especially the tight as engine space its in!!! Sounds real good hits so hard with all music, R&b, rap, rock, etc. Next install... side skirts, buying them this week, having them prepped, blocked, primered and painted and should be installed by next weekend. Im going with the R-Magic side skirts, i like the way they have a little style to them.

Well as for me Im one of those people that do alot of research and looking around before i actually buy something. It has to have the look I want and the "benefit" of having it. Racing Beat even states that aftermarket catbacks are only good for about 3.5 hp which for $600-$1k+ is a waste, all you pay for is sound, looks, and a Fix it ticket. Not only that but u attract more attention to yourself, than we already do having metallic or modded RX8's A race pipe on the other hand for about $200 is reasonable as they can give 12Hp gains. I dont have one yet, but will soon. So i spent $80:) and got the same look everyone else has on this forum:lol:, and soon to be installed race pipe, about 12hp gain for less than $300 total. I just got back from crusing on pch just now and noticed it's freakin' BEAUTIFUL OUTSIDE!

Winter took it's toll on a lot of us, but Spring is pretty much in full swing now - what do you guys think of organizing a spring meet and cruise????

^way ahead of you guys :)...the cadillac margaritas from avilas downtown HB are the SH*T, and the ceviche is to fcken die for...pch is my second home on hot days, since i have family that live in the area

My girl lives about a mile or so from Main & PCH, count me in.
Problem with driving on PCH is we'll attract a lot of attention, TONS of cops on there because of all the bikes that cruise it. Also, HBPD is a bitch about small things like tint, front plates, etc.

We could meet up somewhere in South County and then drive up to Main St and have lunch there.

i HONESTLY think we shouldnt drive on main...i have no front license plate

if we come up on PCH, we can turn into the parking structure that's underneath the movie theater.
I THINK we can get there without driving on Main, there might be a back way in. Lemme check.

If we're heading West on PCH (from say....Newport beach) then we can turn Right on 1st and left on Walnut.
That's the quickest way to the underground parking structure. Our cars should be safe there and away from the cops.

Oh man, i was there the other night at RA sushi. There's a new parking structure right after main street. I forgot the name of the street but it's another under ground parking structure that's pretty empty (awesome for pictures). I'll stop by tonight and check it out some more...

HB = Huntington Beach.

It's closer than LA by about 30 minutes (aka 30 miles or so). We're gonna be on PCH (aka, Pacific Coast Hwy - aka the 1 hwy). Most of the socal guys (Me, jedi, dozer etc.) all live/work around the OC area. I'm not sure if it's gonna fly w/them to go all the way down to SD then come all the way back up on PCH. (About a 60-80+ mile trip 1 way)

If you'd like to come n' join man, you're more than welcome. How long have you been in Socal?

I moved to SD last March, but in my last job I was a Field Service Engineer, so I was constantly flying throughout the US... I probably spent about a total of 3-4 months in SD last year.

Yeah, as of right now I say we shoot for April 10th. I didn't get a chance to plan out the exact details but so far this is what i got:

Date: April 10th, 2009
Time: Between 9-10
Duration: From 10am to 2pm (approximately)
Starting point: Newport Beach (For pictures and preliminary meet up)
Destination: Main Street Parking on beach property
Price: About $10 for parking (not sure how much parking is)
Activities: Pictures, Cruising, Lunch, Brews and anything we want to do on the beach (i.e. volleyball, ultimate frisbe, sunbathing etc.)

So far, what do you guys think??

I'll make it official once we can get a specific starting point and if everybody can agree on pitching money for parking (penny pinchers :squint)
