Rusting alloys

How did this stupid design flaw ever happen, i mean rusting!? I take it these issues are no longer a problem in newer rx8s (yes yes i understand that obvioulsy not every car was affected, etc etc)

That's why I was asking. The wheels are alloys - and I doubt they're rusting.

Are the rotor hubs even "alloy"? I assumed if they were they wouldn't be rusty. ??

I dunno I was just throwing that out there. From my experience that's the only spot I ever saw rust .

Yep I think the early issue was with the hubs rusting. Not the wheels. Mazda was repainting or something under warranty...

Mine are rusty, but it's not a design flaw. It's metal, which rusts.

Think of it as an opportunity to customize - paint the calipers and hubs whatever color you choose.
