What im sure we are all looking for are some nice twisties with low traffic and police pressence...not saying we a goin to be breaking the law :fingersx: , just a road that would be a good experience to drive. Agreed with Chris as well, Bear mountain is a fun drive, nice scenery, etc.
Love the straightaways in NJ for the midnight runs.
CT has some beautiful roads as well.
LI just sucks, unless your at the beaches or out in the hamptons/montauk pt.
Darkrose 02-26-2008, 07:14 AM Route 534 near Albrightsville, PA. From Route 80 south to 209. There are some nice twisties, both for a bike and a car. heehee.....;)
scoreo99 02-26-2008, 07:17 AM Den Rd. exit 34 (i think) off the merrit pkwy. hands down best short run in southwest CT
heyarnold69 02-26-2008, 09:26 AM near montalk point on long island. lands down in conneticut and finally redding, PA
MrBooby 03-21-2009, 08:39 AM Sorry to revive this thead, but I was googling something and found this.... The weird thing is that the last time I was active on this forum was exactly a year ago. March 21, 2008

invasion08 03-21-2009, 05:05 PM I nice little road near Port Jevis NY called Hawks Nest on Route 97 it follows the Delaware River. I take my bike up there every year.

abraves4410 03-21-2009, 08:15 PM theres a lot of nice roads near the delaware gap that offer some really nice scenery. the nicest ive seen is a section on rt 322, coming south from psu main campus, awesome ride
VRZOOMZOOM 03-21-2009, 10:57 PM Middletown Road, in Holmdel, NJ. Big trees, nice curves. Nice scenary. Had a sport bike, look back at me twice once when i was on the road, suprised that I was keeping up in the twisties.
Striker-7 03-21-2009, 11:03 PM When I was stationed in Rome NY at Griffiss AFB, I used to make 6 hr runs during long weekends down to York PA. The segments along the interstates were fast, but boring.
The interesting part was getting to and back from I-81 at Binghamton. From Hinmans Corner / Chenango Bridge Rte 12 - 12B - 26 to Rome was THE most fun I've had behind the wheel. Rolling roads through farm country, running wide open at times (there is one farm owner who'll never forget seeing that crappy 'Iron Duke' Celebrity catching air past his barn), I would LOVE to run it with the RX-8.
I know it was sex-in-public with the RX-7 that fall weekend in 1991, running northbound FAST late Sunday afternoon while I had the light.
Good times... :D:
nycgps 03-23-2009, 01:27 AM Nothing in NYC.
Roads are either too garbage (over 99.99995% are garbage), or too many cops around to catch people speeding (They pull u over even you just 10 over 30 mph, Im dead serious, oh well government needs money what can I say?)
416to212 03-24-2009, 12:12 PM I found a gem of a road near Caumsett State Park in Long Island. W Neck Road has got some nice curves, some places are tight to the water, the views are great and you'll find yourself flying solo most of the time. It's not a long bit of road but it's still a fun drive.

I hit that a year or so ago....yeah small/short but very nice place to go drive...
Andrew R 03-24-2009, 01:21 PM I was just up at Bear mountain this past weekend for a few runs... it was fun.
416to212 03-24-2009, 05:56 PM When are we going to have a New York centric meet again?!
VRZOOMZOOM 03-25-2009, 06:50 PM I also forgot to mention, Atlantic Highlands, NJ, scenic route.........reminds me of europe. nice tight curves, nice up hills, a lot of S-turns. Can't speed too much though, but you can stay in 3rd gear the whole way, nice view of sandy hook area when you get to the top, also has a german restaurant up top. when ur done climbing up. Tons of inner roads to explore.
WinningRX8Chick 03-27-2009, 05:16 PM The roads to Devil's Hopyard in CT are amazing. I've been in a Corvette, T-rex, and regular motorcycle on those roads. Great experience all those times. I haven't taken the 8 on them yet because I live farther away now. I'm definitely going that direction sometime this summer. Also, I found that Rt 219 in CT where it winds past a reservoir is VERY nice. And you can't forget the roads to Lime Rock Park. Those are nice too.
hatepotholez 07-15-2011, 01:02 PM noob here bringing back this old thread here. I was reading about one road noted by Autoweek:
"
The Palisades Interstate Parkway, for example, offers some beautiful stretches along the Hudson River, just north of the George Washington Bridge. For an enjoyable drive through the Garden State, start at High Point State Park near the New York border, take 519 down to Branchville, then go north on 206 until you get to 521/615, which you can follow west to the Delaware Water Gap. Or reinforce the stereotype and take a Sopranos driving tour (Google offers several).

Vlaze 07-15-2011, 01:05 PM I take it frequently every time I head south, good road
alexisonfire 07-18-2011, 01:30 PM clinton road is a fun road, reminds me to go back one day for another run
SILENT_ECHO 07-27-2011, 08:42 AM clinton road is a fun road, reminds me to go back one day for another run
Clinton road in West Milford??
200.mph 07-27-2011, 09:31 AM rt 502 from daleville to moosic pa. its about 10-12 miles but its a blast to drive. sadly tho it has become a bit bumpy and has some small potholes
Jake33 07-28-2011, 04:56 AM Connor's Canyon in Ellwood City, PA. Pretty sick view of a small city, about a mile and 1/2 long with tight bends, guardrails, pretty much a perfect canyon. Downhill is really fun but uphill sorta sucks because we have no torque :/ Unless your'e boosted :yesnod:
alexisonfire 08-01-2011, 05:23 PM Clinton road in West Milford??
Yea, fun at day, sketchy at night with the famous rumors about it and whatnot ;)
CrazyJek 08-03-2011, 11:02 AM Taconic State Parkway and the Saw Mill.
But be careful of the fuzzies. U gotta know the spots like me. I put about 65k miles on them alone in the past 4 years and i know aaaalllllllll the spots haha
Its been a really long time since i was on Bear Mtn
Vlaze 08-03-2011, 11:37 AM Taconic is o.k, just hug the median to stay away from the drains that dip on the shoulder of the road as they dip quite deep for some of them
