Thanks to the help of this forum and its members, TrueDelta has another set of reliability survey results for the RX-8. These are for the year ending December 31, 2007.
For the 2004 Mazda RX-8, we received an average of 5.1 months of data on 18 cars. This is an insufficient sample size, so the result is asterisked. The stat of 52 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.5 per vehicle) is somewhat better than average for a 2004 model. These results do NOT include a single reported engine replacement, as this replacement took place due to the general recall. Even if this repair was included, the result would be about average.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, it literally wouldn't be possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, please consider doing so. It would be nice to get rid of the asterisk and include additional model years.
