View Full Version : Discount on accessories!
Has anyone been able to obtain any discount at all on any of the accessories?
I'm just about to go to my dealer to talk extras, and being as I've been waiting since Jan for my car (as have most of us) I thought that they may offer some sort of loyalty discount for being so patient.;)
Dont be silly. "The delay is not our fault sir", "we dont make much money on pre-order cars sir", "sob"
Poor old dealers:D
Does that mean no then?:(
I think a couple of people have managed mats - I think someone was told they could have parts at cost, but I'll be surrprised if many do...
Well, i'm going to have a go. I'll let you know how I got on when I get back.

Just got back from the dealers, but no news yet as his boss wasn't in. So I left the sales guy with my list for them to get back to me.
I'm not holding out much hope though, as my particular dealership have not been very helpful or communicative ever since I ordered 9 months ago. Why would they be any different now:(
i got the mats, and the dealer gave me a 10% discount card (which he said i could use for window tints) not sure what else i can use it for.
RX-Late 11-03-2003, 12:31 PM My dealers giving me nothing :(
MarkW 11-03-2003, 01:13 PM I tried, and was flatly refused.
After all they've got us over a barrel as we're buying the car anyway and we have nothing to negotiate with.
oilman 11-03-2003, 05:51 PM The RX8 Owners Club are trying to find willing Dealers at present but it will take some time to put together before we can publish a full list of what Dealers are prepared to do for us.
Also have a good deal in place for Engine Oil 5w-30 semi synthetic with Silkolene/Fuchs and negotiating with National Tyre suppliers for best price on Bridgestone Potenzas.
Check the site forum for news.
Cheers

(apart from a laughing salesman):(
kennyboy1215 11-04-2003, 04:40 PM My dealer has promised that I will get a discount on accessories when I decide what to buy.
He is very aware that the pricing is too high and has led me to believe that he can do me a good deal.
I will discuss this with him after my test drive next week and I shall be sure to let you all know the result....

orbist 11-10-2003, 08:15 AM I asked my dealer yesterday and he said and I quote "I always like to look after my customers, so I'm sure we can do something - and anyway a car like this should come with mats as standard".
I piped up that i'd never paid for a set of 'mats and flaps' on any of my new cars and that the prices were rediculous - he agreed and said that Mazda haven't even made it easy on them as they have reduced their margin on the RX8 accessories compared to other Mazda models.
He said when I come in on Friday for my next test drive he'd arrange for me to speak to one of their quys thats 'in the know' and would have a better idea on what they could do for me.
I will keep you all posted... (fingers crossed)
leadfoot 11-10-2003, 02:07 PM go to japanparts.com theyseem to have all the bits for about half price (dunno about import vat and shipping ) but it's a lever to use with dealer.
But presumably you have to fit them which could be a pain. The Mazda price is made up pf unit cost, labour and VAT.
