The swirls are gone so that's great. My bumper paint is extremely soft though; I lightly dropped it when I was putting the VFAD back on for my dealership visit and it scuffed up quite a bit of the lip around the "grill." I buffed most of it out, but it's still somewhat visible if you look closely.

That list is what usually comprises of the meet and so I say it being only 1/3 or less of the remaining meet showing up. Detrich, I assume, will not be there either as he needs his rest.

I just saw you recently Ray, so I don't count. ;), the track day was eventful good and bad. There were a lot of people there, old friends I haven't seen in awhile, my neighbor @ SOW surprisingly, and just enjoying the whole motorsports feel. The bad was that my buddy's time attack car was running unhealthily and was popping constantly. There were also a couple events up in HTM with the group. I'll leave all that for the meet. How was the weekend for you guys?

I used to drive down 3rd almost everyday to get to the grove. Never ever drive on the shoulder lane...not unless you're driving a monster truck or a suspension stock evo(monster truck status stock). lol

just got back, looks like not too much damage.

the underbody brace is pretty much done for, part of the metal actually delaminated cuz it bent so much.

the b-pipe on the exhaust is pretty much gone too, its pushing my tip into the exhaust shroud causing it to melt, also its bent in such a way that right now its rubbing up next to hte gas tank :rant: so i guess i wont be driving the car until i get a replacement or when i have time to take it to the muffler shop. if i do i might also opt to get a resonator welded into it while im there. and i guess theres an autoexe brace somewhere down the line in the future too.

That was a good meet. VERY OLD faces came out to join us last night. Good to see the meet going strong. I do however notice the lack of pictures in this thread of the meets. If everyone can make it out saturday night again imma bring my camera and shoot some photos of our cars there so i can post some up so let others know on this forum that we have a great meet going on. umm... well, turns out there is another group of teenage kids that hangout at Famima. and, apparently they do this often enough that it's drawn the attn of Arcadia PD, who not even 15 minutes after we got there, pulled up with 2 cop cars and immediately rounded everyone- including all of us- up curbside for questioning...

needless to say, Sammy, Hao, and I were like- WTF?!! (i guess some of the other guys have seen this before.)

basically, there is no loitering permitted at that location. and, the cops periodically sweep it to check for gang activity.

I agree. Generally that's the stuff that has made me cautious of that Famima. There's a ton of kids and while I'm sure most of them are no trouble at all, any gathering of kids late at night is too much of a cause for police suspicion.

Awesome choice..... Don't know about the air duct..... Cause it may cause overheating problems on track..... But for daily.... It's a good go....

I haven't delved into the world of track driving, so it's all good =) Besides, I just impulse bought it online, lol Can't wait to install it =)

re: the meet tonight. i'm kinda pissed, so i need to vent here. but, let me make it clear that this isn't personal against any of you three guys. i just feel that we as a group need to be more mindful and careful and respectful about how we treat each others' cars.

when i got home i noticed a big web of metallic scratches ALL over my front passenger side fender and bumper- ie exactly where Ray, Jackson, and Jason had been sitting & leaning... @#$@#$!

at the time i did notice you guys were leaning on my car. and, i was actually somewhat annoyed that the 3 of you guys were acting so carelesslessly. clothing has many sharp metallic objects- ie zippers, buttons, chains etc. and any of those items could scratch car paint. i know you didn't mean to do it on purpose. but, still- you guys need to be more careful. honestly, i would never lean or sit on any of you guys' cars, because i wouldn't want to accidentally scratch your cars. so, i find it very surprising that you guys did this to me...

so, i left the meet at 12:30am, got home, parked my car, and looked it over. and, that's when i saw the damage. i then spent another hour trying to buff some of it out. some scratches came out. some did not. oh well. that's life. (my car was just washed, so it was clean and i know the scratches weren't there before.) i left the meet early, because i have a recording sessions tomorrow and needed to get to sleep early. so, not only did this piss me off, but it also wasted an extra hour + of my time tonight..

anyways. what's done is done. i'm very pissed right now. but, i'll get over it. again- nothing against you guys personally. but, please be more careful next time so that this doesn't happen again to any one of us at the meet.

I think the issue is that even though we're all car guys, we have different values when it comes to what we like about cars. Some guys are pure mechanical, others like to have a clean car, and still others simply like to mod. However, since we all tend to have different values when it comes to our cars, I think the easiest thing to do is to always asks before touching someone else's car. Yes I know I've been guilty of violating that myself as well, but perhaps we should all make an effort.

I just waxed my car too, I think i'd murder if anyone sat on my car, lol

haven't had a chance to look at it in the sunlight yet. so, i have to withhold comment until i have time to do that.

the right front fender had the most severe scratches- some were very deep and almost like made by a keychain or something. (that was where ray was perched.) these i couldn't completely get out.

the right front bumper had 2 sets of scratches- consistent with where jackson and jason were sitting. the cuts ran perpendicular to the bumper. these mostly came out, though there might still be some visibility depending what angle you look at the car from.

everything shows up on black when it's clean.

I'll be back Labor Day weekend. Let's see if some touch up can fix it. Please get the Mazda Brilliant Black touch up beforehand.

That reminds me, i gotta get touch up for my car. So hard to find it, i gotta order it. (metro gray)

You guys ever drive through Angeles Crest? I'm planning a drive/hike next, next Saturday, Sept. 5th. morning drive, then hike at Cooper Canyon if you are interested.
