Funny part is, both my from windows were down the whole time, he gave me the ticket for having my back windows tinted.

I had the cruise control set at 55mph on a street with a 55mph speed limit.

The cop knows it wont stick in court. He pitched me on traffic school, which means plead guilty and take traffic school.

He never saw my windows, but I got a tint ticket.
He never got me on radar or paced me, but said he was estimating 90, so wrote me up at 70, and I know for a fact I was doing 55.

No reason, he was just treating me like a drunk teenager.

He started out yelling, and just kept going.
Most cops get a lot cooler after they find out you are sober, licensed, registered and insured with a perfect driving record.
He never called for back up, Never brought in a seargent, and didn't even call in my name till later when he was writing up the ticket.
He tried every trick in the book to get me to confess to speeding, but I knew I was in the clear. They use your fear to get you to admit to something you didn't do. I have plenty experience with getting pulled over, that is why I keep all my stuff legal. It makes it MUCH easier in court. :)


Kinda wierd though, I haven't had a cop treat me like that since I was a punk teenager driving an illegally modified bright red sports car while blasting a competition stereo at full blast.

it's perfectly legal to have hella dark tint in your rear and side rear windows here in cali, it's the front two that matter. that is totally not in the right for him to ticket you on for a fix-it-ticket for your rear tinted windows. i say fight it in court and have him pay you the $10 fee.

I used to go to the Crystal Cove meet about once a month when I lived down the street. It is cool to see all the expensive cars. Problem is that they come with pricks behind the wheel. They go to a car show, but dont even want people looking at thier cars. They are not really car people. They are "check out how rich I am, you must bow to me in all my greatness" people.
Saw some guys little boy jump inside a Ferrari, and the owner went ballistic. Yelled, screamaed and threatened with lawsuits. That is when I stopped going.
The only cool ones there are the ones that own the classics.

^^^ I'd be a bit pissed as well if some little munchkin jumped in my Ferrari. I wouldn't go that nuts but it depends on what the kid was doing.

Also, most of the exotics no longer go to Crystal Cove, they all pretty much got kicked out by the Irvine Company for "loitering". :banghead:

I used to have that blue frosting pic on my computer....but that wasn't the best part of the story.....it was the stories we heard of green poop for weeks afterwards.

I promise a couple of things for this party.
1) No blue frosting cakes....and no green surprises that come afterwards.
2) I will not enforce a dress code....come in whatever you want.
3) I will not cook, or attempt to cook anything resembling hamburgers :). (we do have a new BBQ that someone with better hamburger skills can play around on though).

i had a tropical punch rockstart the other day, it was good and i can BBQ if no one else wants to and as long as there is light. I have been guitar heroing it up lately just to get my fingers back in shape, cant do much about my hands feet and vocal cords.

so I just ordered the Koni Race shocks and ground control coil over kit for the super miata!

just for a comparison, the stock springs are 120 pounds front and 100 pounds rear. the new springs are 700 pound front and 375 pounds rear. of course the new shocks are valved to handle such a stiff spring. they are also shortened to allow a lower stance without bottoming out.... and of course they are fully adjustable.

hey all just wanted you all to know that Mazda is replacing my motor after a long drawn out battle. Also Mazda has changed the warranty. All Mazda RX8's from 04 on I believe will have an extended service warranty up to 100K miles or 8 years. I was at my powertrain warranty then got a call from the dealer letting me know that the policy has changed and I am no longer on the extended powertrain and back on the regular warranty so that is why my motor is being replaced.

my 04 was covered......I just got the paperwork and accompanying DVD video Monday. Unfortunately, I no longer have the car....and it would not be covered anyways given all the modifications that were made to the car.

this is the new tire that we will likley be making the switch to. we curently run a 225/45/13. this new tire is a 255/x/13 (I dont remember the sidewal ratio off hand).

we curently run a 8" wide wheel. the new wheel will be from 9" to 10". (not sure yet.) the picture above is the new tire on a 10" wheel.

Also you may want to look in to .45 vs. 9mm.
When I was practicing regularly, I would go through about 1000 rounds per week. The difference in price between the two was about double. The 9mm is a nato round, therefore they can be found super cheap. The .45 cost about twice as much, but does have the stopping power most people are looking for.

Then again, if you are not going to be shooting it too often, all that doesn't matter anyway. So just go with what feels right.


Here is the key -
Hold a gun with comfort. Aim at something a couple times. While keeping the same stance, close your eyes and bring the gun to point/target. Now open your eyes. If you are not almost perfectly on target, or if the gun has turned/shifted in your hand, find a different gun.

And when it comes to brands, I am sure your buddy will point you in the right direction. But just so I can chime in . . . . . ..

I had one fall off and never knew it.....took it to the mechanic to get a pre-sale check done and he noticed that it was hanging off.....just put it back on and started to get good gas mileage again :)

you might want to take off the bar first, and redo the bar, to the way you drive.

and make sure when you take off your stock one there will be little spacers there. take them off.

then put the new brackets on. then put the bar on!

bu the cover does fit.

from what the article said it works just like any pc connecting to a hot spot.

spent our weekend installing some lighting in the backyard....getting ready for the party on the 21st with all you guys. Only had one little light in the backyard that came with the house. Bought a nice fancy one, and then two others and installed them on the patio. So, there should be plenty of light now so people can enjoy sitting outside if the house gets too packed with people rocking out.

Have a new BBQ now too....and hopefully have some time to go pick up a table and chairs for the outside by next weekend.

Installed the lights, went to flick the lights on...."POP" no lights, blew a breaker.....found a short in the wiring, so fixed it up...flick the switch and "light"...who hooo. Amatuer electrician status re-instated.

Oh.....and I saw Zoo Tender on the 210 on my way home from work Friday. Pulled up next to her (she was on her cell.....and not using hands free I might add)....honked like crazy but she wouldn't look over. Finally got her attention, but she had that "who do I know in a fricken white Mazda 3" look on her face.

I don't know whether she realized it was me at all.....figured I would find out if she came to read the thread and saw I posted about it.

well, THE kick-ass SB meet i went to was barely better than yours, if u can call it that. First off, it was raining + foggy. Second, there were like only 6 cars: two 8's (Jun, myself), one FD (Scott), two FC's (Ray, Matt), and that white Integra dude that got busted after that run we did from the 10 to Temecula. (I still dunno who's friend he was, but anyways.) Matt spun out on the 13, got worried about the bald tires and rain so he went home. the rest of us actually made it to the 15.

but that was THE shit meet of that year i think... :lol: (i have the pix to prove it.) :P we were lucky Jun actually came out a 2nd time after I convinced him that had been a highly IRREGULAR "no one showed up" meet. hahahahaha
