yup, cover still fits. The cover is affected by Strut Bars but sway bars are the ones underneath attached to the endlinks.

I kinnda wish I took pics but with no digi cam, that was a bit of a challenge. But trust me, the bars are a nice shiny red color! SO PRETTY. :)

Temp for the mornign groups... yes.
Track layout was most of the problem. where most of these pics were taken it was very fast to a slow turn. thats always asking for cones to get mowed.
also first group had a bit of water still on the track for the first lap or two.

my first run was a joke. almost looped it like 4 times.

The roll cage will be for safety.
We are gutting the car to the point that the doors will be cut up and be a skin only. Everything in the front trunk is gone, including removing metal from the hood. Even the rear trunk will be cut out to save weight.
So for safety, I want a cage.

I have been sick for the last 2 days.
I went home at 10:30 on Monday with a pretty bad cold/flu.
I'm assuming it was a cold since it seems to be mostly gone.
Spent yesterday on xbox most of the day.
Now I'm back at work.

Sounds kinnda like the bug that got me about 3 weeks ago Cesar. Ugly cough, body aches, but no fever. It was really weird, I rested for a few days (aka lots of PS3) and then I was fine on monday. Glad you're feeling better

looks like you are dropping a motor not pulling it?

is that the old "drop the car on the motor" trick?

The motor must go in from underneath.
You need to get the back end really high up to do it. But then it needs to come back down a little so when the engine goes in it doesn't tip rearward. (look at the jack-stand location) It took 3 of us a couple hours to get 2 motor mounts in. But now everything else is just pluggin stuff in and connecting hoses.

I haven't gotten a chance to check it out but I assume the color is not a perfect match (as others have reported), but the piano black on our car is almost impossible to match. Heck, even my Racing Beat gauge pod doesn't match. It LOOKS like it matches but when light hits it or at certain angles, you can see the difference.

I hear there's a few glitches with the Metra kit but I think Metra is addressing them. Rollerblades (who I saw at a meet recently) said he was working with them to fix a few issues.

I just purchased a netbook.
There may be a way to install a docking station in the glovebox, connected to a touchscreen in the Metra kit.
I can leave the netbook in the car, and have the option to take it w/ me when I want.
The netbook arrives on Monday, and I'll start looking into that route as an option.

I missed the game last night but caught the highlights this morning, looks like you guys had a heck of a comeback and almost pulled out the win.

The Packers, oops, I meant the Jets took a strong lead into half time due to too many mistakes on offense by the Patriots, along with a kick Return touchdown by the Jets. The score was lopsided because of that run back. Stats were close. But one of the biggest stats with regards to the outcome of the game was completion percentage. Favre and Cassell were basically using the same play book, lots of short routes, or throws out to the side after only a one step drop. Lots of catch and Yards After Catch type of plays. Neither team was successfull with the run...leading rusher in the game was Cassell. :uhh:

The Jets did an awsome job jamming Moss the entire game. The game tying catch at the end of the game only happened because the defense was in prevent, and not bumping him at the line. Moss doesn't do well when bumped at the line, he just gives up and doesn't run his routes....and given that Cassell has such a horrible completion percentage, Moss just doesnt run half the time as he beleives Cassell will just miss him anyways.

We had a couple of turn overs at critical points in the game which kept us from really pulling ahead.

The game could have gone either way, but then again, that is the same that could be said for last weeks game against the Colts.

The game was going to be won by whomever got the coin flip for OT.....The Jets got the flip, they got the win.


I feel like a sports writer now.....but to take something positive and negative from the game.

Postives: Cassell is finally getting out of the pocket when he needs to, he hasn't been sacked much recently...those first three games were frustrating.

Cassell showed that he could actually finish off a drive once he got inside the redzone. I beleive they showed a stat that he had the worst percentage in the NFL for touchdown rate in the red zone.

We continue to have a strong defensive line and line backer core....secondary is weak, has been for three years now for varying reasons (partially due to injury and is again the case this year). We have a strong candidate for defensive rookie of the year (#51). He is leading the team in tackles and it seemed that his name is called on most plays. He is exciting to watch, and has made so much progress even at this point in the year.

We got Sammy morris back, but running game stunk for both teams this week anyways....


Negatives: The Jets showed the NFL how to take Moss completely out of a game. They bumped him at the line (he was in single coverage all night, the entire second half he was covered by a rookie....:icon_no2: ). Welker was double covered the entire night, which lead the real options to Tight End (#84) and to my least favorite receiver on the squad (#10).

oh, and life....it is ok. Got a puppy for Erica, got the dog from Vipers. She is awsome. We are going to doggy school every week, gives us something to do during the week beyond playing xbox and watching the Patriots lose :)

Only difference now is that the gaps are much larger. We tend to beat each other by much greater margin than when we were both running almost the same lap times in the RX8. The Miata is less forgiving and you really are forced to drive it well. Anyone could get in an 8 and do well.

The first 2 fights were over SO quickly, I wondered how many of the Prelim fights they were going to squeeze into the broadcast to fill up their 3 hour time slot. :rofl:
I watched the fights on Saturday.....man, that Brock guy is just huge.

Yeah, Brock is an animal! He is still not the most technically sound fighter but he is a HUGE mass of raw talent that has soooo much potential. They say 1 punch can change a fight and that's never been truer then when Brock landed that right hook. (81" reach has it's perks).
It was good to see Brock not go ALL OUT in the 1st like he did againt Mir. He seemed more controlled and was fine with a round of "feeling out". When Randy GOT UP after being taken down by Brock, I was shocked.

Overall, I thought it was a great card.

jorge u never got back to me about the software update... Any issues?

I'm on version 2.52. Besides weird lines on power on I noticed some minor sluggishness using force grip & throw in FU -after- the update. Everything else seems ok but I'm not too happy with how it's not as good as b4

I've been so busy, I still haven't used my PS3. I'll try and fire it up tonight or tomorrow and let you know

there is a Ladies practice/school at California speedway. they hold it once a year. it is intended to be super low pressure and a lot of fun for the ladies. sign your wife/girlfriend/friend with benefits/mom up for this event. for the ladies taught by the ladies. (some of the best women drivers around)

The pics are from the cell phone, and there's not enough light in my room for it to
turn out clearly, so I went to the bathroom and turned on all the lights.

Question for (kevin, cesar, jeorge, casey): my wifes computer got a virus, fake anti virus software, i ended up having to reformat the hard drive (kevin got the same problem and did the same thing). i have since reinstalled everything and done all the updates but the comptuer is still incrediably slow and get pop-ups up the wazoo! Any help would be great, my wifes wants a new computer, her's is around 5 years old: P4 with a 60g and 512ram. She thinks it is fast enough for her until the problem cloged its arteries.

if you're still getting pop ups then the virus in in there somewhere. try going to www.download.com and getting AdAware.
When it installs, it'll have you download new updates and then run a full scan.

Usually reformatting the drives does the trick so that's a bit perplexing. The only thing I can think of is that it infected another program and you installed that as well.

you can also check ur systems config.
sometimes those things are the first
thing to load when booting up the pc.
if so, you can't delete it until it stops running
as a program.

That's an old pc. If you're using it just for online stuff (paying bills, surfing the
net, email) you should reformat it and load Ubuntu instead of windows.
Ubuntu is pretty stable, and much better at managing resources.
In other words, it will run faster and more efficiently.
Give me a list of things you use that pc for, and programs you generally use, and I'll tell you if Ubuntu would work.
Functionally, it will feel like a brand new pc compared to what it is now.

That's gross, and looks terribly painful.
I've dropped stuff on my toes, and kicked stuff while barefoot, but I've never had a bruise. OUCH!

626 group did a marathon late night run last night- finishing all the way up in the mountains where we usually go for our monthly meet cruises. this was my first time doing a run like this late at night... and, it was really fun... basically, it's a lot faster than what we'd normally run at- purely because there was almost zero worries of on-coming cars & cops. (we only saw 1 cop and it was a park ranger i think.) there were maybe 1 or 2 slow cars that wouldn't use the turn-outs here and there, but overall not too bad. we were all tired at the end though... started at around 11:30pm cuz ppl showed up late and when we finally all sat down for food it was like 5am... <lol>

It was a medium distance run by LateralG standards! One of these days, I'm going to try to realize my dream of an overnight run so we can get away from just the Greater LA area and go to other parts of the state.

I'm glad it worked out so smoothly, but the group was a bit big; I didn't actually plan for so many people to come, and so had to improvise a bit on the spot. If it wasn't so big and included so many inexperienced people, I think we could've spent less time waiting and more time driving, which would've cut down on the fatigue. I might need to organize two types of drives in the future: one that is longer ranged for experienced people only, and the other that is relatively short to blood in newbies. Nonetheless, this was a successful conclusion to the 2008 drives even if it didn't go quite as smoothly as I would've liked.

Soo update on the computer:
I reformated it again, installed office xp and the newest firefox and required drivers. I have not done the updates or office 2007 because it slows down after that step. I was not able to run ubuntu, it just wouldnt load or run directly from the disk. AVG would not work because it could not updated itself even though I have a internet connection and scannign woudl freeze, it thought I wasnt connected. I was also unable to load AVG on the current setup because it required XP with SP2 to work. so for now everything works but i have to save down from my computer to my wifes all her old files that were office 07 to xp (I also have office 03 but i figure it would be better to do evertyhing XP). No pop-ups or virus so far.

On any PC shared w women or children, its always a good idea to keep xp patched with all the most up-2-date MS critical updates, because those close known vulnerability holes in the OS. Yes the computer is slightly slower, but ur less likely to get exploits. It's also good to have 1 good AV app & 1 good AS app.

Or, get them a mac- a lot less worries re viruses & spyware- esp for curious, click happy users. (ahem) like women & kids... :LOL:

Detrich, the mac wouddl confuse them, especially my wife thruoughly, as for the updates and slighylt slower, try pushing a bolder the size of a car up a hill slower.

Your pc should not be slowed down by windows service pack updates.
I would definitely recommend updating to service pack 3.
It actually makes it more efficient.
You need to install some sort of anti-virus or you will end up w/ problems eventually.
AVG 8.0 is free and it runs very well on any system. It does not hog resources that would slow your pc down.

If you had issues trying to run Ubuntu, it's because your pc is not setup to check the CD drive first.
Restart the pc, and go into the BIOS Setup. It's probably F2 or F12 while it's booting up.
Read the screen, and it will tell you which key to push to go into Setup.
There is an option for boot sequence. You want the CD Drive 1st, and your hard drive 2nd.
When you boot up your pc, it will check the cd 1st, and if there is something that it can boot from, it will, but if it's some
other type of file, like music cd or games, it will just boot from the hard drive.

Once you're CD is setup to be checked 1st, you can restart w/ the Ubuntu CD in the drive, and it will work.

We finished. Lots of wires, but I accomplished what I wanted to do.
It was mostly testing to make sure everything fits like I wanted, and that the metra kit worked correctly.

Cesar: glad we got the Metra kit in there, I wish we would have had a little longer to finish up the little things but I would say the install was a success.


P.S. Cesar and I have uber wiring skillz. You guys should SEE the amount of wires involved in that thing!!!! :scared:

No, it's not that simple.
It's the same as many PC games.
You can load the game onto the hard drive, but the disc has to be in the tray to start the game.
The advantage is, when you go to a loading screen, it loads much quicker, and of course, doesn't access the tray as much so it saves on wear/tear.

Mail man just brought me a cap, rotor, plugs and wires.

Now I need to hook up the clutch, the shifter cables, and get a full exhaust . .. . then some timing and I should pass smog for the registration!!!:)
