From the poll thread I created it seems most people can meet on a thursday so thats when we will meet!!

DATE: Thursday, the 28th (next week)

LOCATION: D&B on I-10 and Silber

I was thinking we can meet at the parking lot in front around 8pm, then continue the meet inside where people can play games, eat, drink, etc. Should be fun so Join IN!!

D&B requires guests to be 21 (they card at the door) but if we have someone 25 or older with us, the underage people can get in as well.

List if you will be coming or not so forum members know!! (put your age as well if dont mind so we can be sure no one will be left it if we move inside)

Yeah I am having a small shop on Ella do them for me for cheap, I got tired of waiting to find someone with a spring compressor and a free weekend. Hopefully these guys know what they are doing, that is why I said probably..... Just dropped it off today. Crossing my fingers. Seemed like a really nice guy and was the cheapest quote.

hero: I am getting tanabe springs and tokico shocks for my 8. I am also upgrading the brakes and I am still undecided on wheels. I am going to schedule a day to upgrade my greddy turbo with MM's Greddy Upgrade. This is going to require a complete tune from scratch, since I will be using larger injectors.

Sorry I don't remember the name of the shop it is at the corner of 34th and Ella, and the guys name was James. Really great guy and they did great work, I am very pleased!!!!!

Ya, Hero, I did change my coils less than 6 months ago. 10,000 miles on them and all I hear is excess gas coming out of the exhaust. I can hear the difference in amount of gas when it comes to a no-cat'ed car... It might just be my plugs... Considering that I have flooded them, but I felt a loss of power before the flood... Just saving up money for the Mazsport coil upgrade...

lol im over there some thursdays in the RX to go drinking at drink houston. I might show up to the meet.

I actually enjoyed this meet more than the normal ones. I can't stand Freebirds and we always go there. Fortunately next month's meet (week?) is at Gabby's BBQ which I like.

What was so different, what can we do to make the normal meets better since they suck? :P

The turnout surprised me more than anyone! The thursday meets usually consisted of 2-4 cars. This one had 10!! haha. It was fun meeting all you guys, and seeing the few I hadn't seen in a long time again. The turnout seemed promising for future thursdays meets.

How often do you guys want to get these meets together? Next time we need moarrrrrrrr photographersssssss.

Why don't we work it out as a regular RX-Club meeting and include everyone. We can post it on the local forum as well as the 7club forums.

If we stagger the weeks we might be able to get a real roster of regular attendees. The RX-Club meets are always first tuesday of the month, so if we did 2nd or 3rd Thursdays it would be a nice near weekly thing. Especially in the spring and summer when we start to have more Saturday/Sunday meetings (we could do those on the 3rd or 4th weekends).

Any thoughts?

I can't make any Tuesday meets because of prior commitments, and I'd be able to make more of the weekend meets rather than Thursdays because of work. But in saying all of that, I'll make it to them when I can from now on.

FWIW - We don't always go to Freebird's although that ironically does seem to be the meeting you make most (next to Gabby's). The only reason that the Freebird's meeting does get scheduled as often as it does is because like Gabby's it produces more average attendees. Gabby's, Freebird's and Barry's are always consistant performers (excluding weather or other issues).

I guess you haven't been looking at the club calendar recently. We are only scheduled to go to Freebird's 3 times this year... June, September and December. I would hardly call that "always".

In 2007 - scheduled 4 times (-1 canceled) = 3 times (Feb, Apr, Dec)
In 2006 - scheduled 4 times (+1 unscheduled) = 5 times (Mar, Jun, Aug, Sep, Dec)
In 2005 - scheduled 4 times (Mar, May, Oct, Dec)
In 2004 - scheduled 1 time (May, Dec)
In 2003 - scheduled 1 time (Dec)

So assuming we have about 12 events a year (we have a few more than that usually) that's 60 meetings of those 60 only 14 were at Freebird's or for you math geeks that's about 23.3 percent.

We are only scheduled to go to Freebird's 3 times this year... June, September and December. I would hardly call that "always".

3 times is 3 times too many! For someplace that specializes in Burritos, you'd think they'd make a good one! There was no meeting for January or February so those 2 months were lack of any other location but very likely would have been at Freebirds had they taken place. I'm good with Gabby's and Barry's. Those places are cool. Freebird's needs to do food loving people a favor and go out of business.

Jan meeting - That was the first Tuesday of the month. Yes, the meeting was at Track21. There was also a drag event as well that several members went to together.

Feb meeting - We were at Barry's... my camera is busted so I didn't take pics, but I'm sure someone has some.

Saturday meets - Sorry, everyone whines and complans there were no weekend metings, so we tried and it failed miserably. No as you can see Freebird's has never had more than 4 scheduled meetings per year for any year we have gone there.

For those of you keeping score that 33.3% of meetings based on a 12 meeting cycle. still quite a ways from "always" wouldn't you agree. As far as the food it's not my favorite either, but we would probably be in the minority of people who despise it.

If you have any good ideas for meeting locations please come forward with them, don't sit there and complain without merit... that's not like you.

I know you must have some ideas your just not sharing with us. Your just doing that thing we all despise where someone complains but they don't even have a different/better solution.

Bring it and I'll buy you a big beefy rib tomorrow night. :lol:
