Oh, put a number in front when you add a new protest.

Why would gas prices be an issue for presidential debate?

The taxes on gas are very low in the United States. Additionally the prices are set by speculators on the open market. Our president can't do squat to change it.

(2) Why is baseball being singled out for steroids when football is where the focus should be? I had been thinking about this for a long time. Then yesterday Steinbrenner said the same thing to the press.

Obviously, many forces are protecting the NFL.

Presidents can do something and they should be drilled on what they intend to do. The prices we're seeing (or I should say the change in prices) have little to do with market forces.

Oh yeah? So tell me more. Because last I checked, we don't even get most of our oil from the middle east. However gas prices are set on the global market, so their production effects the prices we pay.

(3) McNamee should be forced to wear different glasses. His fricking cartoon drawing face looks especially ridiculous when paired with wire thin frame glasses. I can not stand looking at pictures of him in the newspaper or online. Have you guys seen that pic that espn.com put up of him where they crop the pic so it's just a huge zoom in of McNamee's fricking face?

I am protesting McNamee's face.

Don't need to explain. Go read the other thread. Apparently some others agree. There's what is on the surface and what is beneath the surface.

Of course  there is collusion. There is a larger plan behind all of this.

Ah, I see where this is going. Goverment conspiracies? World trade center bombing an insider job?

I always laugh at such notions. Our government leaks like a sieve. Imagine a massive operation that involves killing thousands of US citizens on US soil, and billions in damages to infrastructure. Yeah, we'll keep that a secret, but we can't even torture people in Guantanamo Bay without pictures being published everywhere.

Maybe Digital_Damage can clear that up for you. He seems to have a firm hold on those concepts.

(4) It is absolutely ridiculous that Memoirs of a Geisha, which is a Japanese story, casts a bunch of Chinese actors. Furthermore, Zhang Zi Yi has a type of chinese country girl look that is as far from a Japanese look as you can get.

I don't give a shit if the producer and director are all chinese. It's not right. I still haven't watched the damn movie out of protest. And believe me I would love to see some naked asian actresses.

Or I can clear the issue up for him. I am absolutely certain there is collusion. My background and brain might lend some credence. But won't convince you guys. And that's ok.

Come on you guys, add some protests.

If she loses Wisconsin and Hawaii, Texas and Ohio might not be a factor. She may not be able to recover. This race has been incredible.

Wisconsin is a white state. Does anyone know what is the demographic that is making Obama do so well in all those white states? Is college students one of them? What other demographic?

It's most likely due to the utter disdain for Billary.

(9) I gave Beckham the benefit of the doubt but if he doesn't play most of the season this year, I am going to be really pissed.

One cool experiment in Beckman's going to Galaxy is that he is clearly better than Landon Donovan, who is supposed to be the US's best player. He is simply a level higher than Donovan. I never knew this until I saw them side by side. I used to think stubbornly that our best players could play alongside the best in the world. I was wrong.

Then you see how Beckman is better than a lot of doubters thought he was (including me) but is still not at the dynamic level of Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Riquelme, and Robinho.

So what does that mean? That means the US national team is 2 levels away from the best in the world, which means they suck. They better utilize Altidore and Adu a lot in the next 2 years. They're all we got.

No I blamed your San Diego Chargers radio announcers Josh and Hank, the worst announcers in all of sports, for global warming. Can you dig it?

Yeah he did. I think it was in the same paragraph where DD blamed him for his hemorrhoids as well.

Violates Rules of Conduct

17. Do not start threads on religion or politics in the Lounge area or anywhere else. Experience with the forum has proven that political or religious discussions inevitably become flamefests, which are prohibited (see the first rule above). So don't start them.

As a follow up to that although this thread is called the protest thread, there are really only 2 big subjects that this can ultimately lead to. It got to one of them. It never had a chance to see religion.
