Ok I have heard from those of you who have received your $500 Amex card, but how about those who haven't??
How long has it been since you have taken delivery of your RX-8 and still haven't received your $500 card?

Got my car the 17th of July...did not advise mazda I wanted to keep the car till the last possible day...still no card/paperwork..so about 2 weeks...

Sent my paperwork in by express mail a couple of days before the deadline. Still nothing here. Will probably be calling Mazda today.

Sent a few days before 10/1, nothing, zip, nada.

11/3 update - I called and they said a week or so I would get it. No RX-8 line, but regular Mazda line answered almost immedaitely.

Got mine a couple weeks ago. Already spent a little over $100 of it too...hee hee

Got my card about 1 week ago. I haven't used it yet. Figure I will put the $$$ toward the 4 new snow tires I will need this season (only $300.00 to $700.00 short for what I need now... ) ;)

For those of you who did receive your card and have already responded, could you please state approximately when you sent you letter back to mazda and how long from that point was it before you received your card???

I sent mine in 5 days before the dealine registered mail. I received the confirmation they received it on the 29th. Have not heard anything back as of yet.

Sent my letter back about a week before the deadline and still nothing. I did get my free oil change though last Friday.

Thanks again I sent my paper in the last week of September. Still haven't gotten the cards yet. I called & the guy said A-OK on my info. Maybe they just haven't gotten to the R's yet...

edit: Last week of September, not August! Doh!!! (Seems like it was a year ago now.)

Sent my paperwork by certified mail with return reciept to make sure Mazda couldn't say they didn't get it.

THey got the letter, but still no card.

I also sent my letter a few days before deadline. Nothing yet. No confirmation letter either.

Mazda received my letter on Oct. 1st. The customer service person told me last week that he can't predict when the cards will be mailed to those of us who procrastinated until the last minute on sending our letters in, but he said it might be another two weeks or so.

Sent my positive response in the 3rd week of September.

No confirmation - no letter - no card, yet.

i sent mine on the 1st of oct. (called MNAO to make sure i got in under the wire...lady said it just had to be postmarked "Oct. 1") no confirmation letter...no AMEX card.

called last week to find out what the deal was and was told that there's no record of them receiving my confirmation letter and that they'd take care of it on their end or fax me a new form. (and call me to tell me which was going to happen.) needless to say, i'll be calling them again tomorrow to see what's going on.

i did, however, get my first free oil change last wednesday...so it's not all bad.

called them and sent the stuff in, no card... even though Mazda USA is about 3 miles away... wtf?

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. It's a good thing that I warned my wife not to immediately throw away anything that looked like another free credit card offer. She almost threw away our $500 before she remembered I asked her to check everything since I didn't know what it would look like or where it would be coming from. It looks kinda cool with a little Mazda emblem on it. The literature says that I'm not supposed to use it to pay at the pump but other than that I can pretty much use it like any other debit card.

Finally picked up my pre-order after the Oct deadline. But I called before and after to confirm my eligibility. I did call MNAO to confirm my status. I was told that my 8 is in the system and that the AE card should be sent in early Nov. and the maintenance certificate would follow in a couple of weeks. I'm giving them until next week before I call MNAO.

I sent paperwork 9/2/03, haven't received anything. I called Mazda, and was informed that my free service had been set up, but nothing else. They apparently lost my info. I faxed them a copy 10/29/03, and haven't heard from them yet.

Sent my paperwork on 9/30. Called Mazda yesterday and was advised that in about two weeks I would receive the debit card and the maintenance card together.

This is the meat of the email response that I received from rxorders yesterday...

"In regard to your inquiry, not all cards have been sent out yet. You
should be receiving your $500 American Express cash card in the next
couple of weeks. This card is coming directly from American Express. I
certainly apologize for the delay."

y'know, I've long spent all but maybe $28 of my card...but I've never seen nor heard anything about getting a free maintenance card, officially. Folks are talking about this other card, but does/will it actually exist? I suspect it's just an entry in the database that the dealer looks up...

I sent mine regisitered and return reciept requested a couple days before the deadline. I just called and got a quick return call from the very professional and helpful young lady (Clarita) who helped me when there was a dedicated RX8 staff. She assured me I should have my card within a few weeks. I don't care about it as long as I get it before my trip to Vegas early next year. I got that $500 tabbed for a dinner and my lodging at the Luxor.

Just spoke to Customer Service (800) 222-5500. They verified my information in choosing Offer 1 ($500 & Free Service).

She said it takes 8 weeks to process, and my acceptance was received 9/23/03.

Looks like I get to wait a couple of more weeks.

I also just got off the phone w/ Customer Service. I had pretty much spent my $500 amex card four or five weeks ago, but I had yet to see the maint. card. Customer Service looked me up and verified the maint. card is scheduled to mail *today*.

Customer Service dude also said that the next 'wave' of maint. card mailings is just starting, so watch your mailbox if you haven't got yours yet.

still sitting her impatiently twiddling my thumbs waiting for the amex AND maintenance card.

WTF! Where is my damn $500 card and free maintenence package? Mazda is REALLY starting to piss me off.

I just got off the phone with Mazda North America again for about the 10th time regarding this AMEX card. I still have received nothing and each time I am told a different story. Up until today I was told that the card should come in about 2 weeks from that call. These calls started back in late September/October. Today I spoke with a very rude and inexperienced rep names STEVE ID#1133 who basically said Mazda had no control over when I received my card since it was turned over to American Express themselves to handle. He also went on to say that I probably wouldn't receive anything until January of 2004; a far cry from the original promise of October. When I asked if Mazda had given amex some time of drop dead date to have all the cards sent out, he said no, which basically means they can send them out whenever they feel like it :( This is NOT good. Hopefully this inexperienced chap doesn't last too long and is providing inaccurate information. Otherwise Mazda has some very serious management issues going on.

Anyone have updates on their cards??? Any more received??

When I called two weeks ago, Mazda told me that the cards were being sent out in the order that the forms were recieved by the processing center. I sent my form three days before the drop dead date for reciept. I recieved my card yesterday. They should be getting to the end of all the cards that need to be sent out. Don't know if this helps, but that's my experience.

I got my car August 26th, sent in papers for Service Program on September 29th, received my card December 2nd. When I called Mazda Customer Service a couple of weeks ago, they said I was slotted to get my card between December 9 and 15...so I got mine earlier than they thought.

Bought car July 14th. Turned in letter Sept 15th. Recieved debit card yesterday 2 Dec.

I don't remember the dates, but I bough my car the last couple of weeks in July, I actually recieved my AMEX card back in September.

I received my Maintenance Card early November, it's actually pretty neat has an RX8 on the front.

I called Mazda N.A.'s 800 number on Monday asking about my card. I had been told that I would get my card in mid to late November. The girl told me I was now slated to get my card during the second or third week in December. I went to my mail that afternoon and lo and behold, there is my $500 card. Needless to say, I was happy. But, I also have to wonder what is going on over there. Do they have any clue?

Received Am Ex card this past Monday 12/1. Sent paperwork in 3rd week of September.

Finally got my AE Incentive Card yesterday.

I did call MNAO just the day before that and was told AE was sending another batch of Incentive Cards out starting next week. Also the next batch of Maintenance Cards will be sent out between X'mas and New Years.

After my last very unsatisfactory phone conversation mentioned in my last post I emailed Mazda North America explaining my concerns. I am happy to say I finally got Mazda's attention and had the opportunity to deal with some competent people this round. I was told I would receive my card the week of December 16 which is also Phase 3 of the Amex cards being issued. Apparently my card should have gone out in the Phase 2 batch which some of you have already received, but a processing error bumped it to Phase 3. I feel a bit better now, but will update you if it arrives as promised in a couple of weeks.

I sent my paperwork in 9/2. I still have nothing, but they now are claiming it will be here in Jan. Numerous calls, refaxing paperwork to them doesn't seem to work.

bought car July 17; filed settlement paperwork Sept 30; got card a couple days ago. Already used it at Amazon.com and at a pay 'n pump gas station. Seems to work ok.
