Hi, im new to the forums :D I drive a Mazda6 and currently on the mazda6club.com forum.

My parents are about to buy another car for me. and i need help.

Im good at searching for decent cars, with good pricing.

First Choice:

Silver 2004 Mazda RX8 Grand Touring
Appearance Package
Leather
Sunroof (every model comes with sunroof except Sport so..) (but some people ask if there is a sunroof, even pointing out the GT..)
NAVIGATION :D
Miles: 44,766
Price: 15,995

Second Choice:

NO navigation :(
Miles: 72,783 (alot of miles)

Things to keep in mind,
I LOVE black (i drive a black mazda6), not really a silver fan, but its alright.
Silver has NAVIGATION! but do i really need it? i think i might for college.
Silver has alot less mileage than the black, the black has alot a mileage.

Basically, which one would you buy if you had these choices, and are the prices decent. i think the price for the black one is pretty decent, the silver one is a little high.

I'd go with the lower miles + Nav. Sleeker car does not equal a better car. The engine life is what I'd be worried about.

well there really is no wrong choice...

i like both. thats why they are the two up there...

just one has navi, and one has more miles.

just a matter of, if i really like black, or if i want silver.

its not like im going to blame anyone for whatever i pick. they're both great cars.

Then pick one. Benjamin Franklin use to get a piece of paper and write YES on one side and NO on the other side. Do that for both cars and then see which one has the most YES reasons why you would buy it. Then buy it.

Reallistically, it is $4k less, which is MOST of an engine replacement. It's nto AS bad of a thought as it sounds.

Why don't you give a $hit if the engine blows up? are your parents so rich they can just flush money down the toilet? why don't you have them give you $100s to wipe your a$$ with instead of using toilet paper...b/c with your attitude you are pretty much doing that.. grow up man.

your parents spent the last 17 years raising your ass, paying for you ass, and you pay them back by trying to get the "coolest" car you can with no regard for whether it blows up, costs THOUSANDS to fix, because YOU won't have to pay for it. well THEY will. and since they are buying you a MAZDA and not a BMW, I assume they AREN'T rich beyond belief. they are probably good hard working parents who love you, want you to be happy, and have the financial means to buy you a nice car...and you repay them by just getting whatever is cool with no regard to whether it will be reliable or just cost them thousands to fix.

boy, i can hardly wait until they are in their 80s and need to be cared for. what will you do then? look for the cheapest possible assisted living center - so you have money left over to buy more "cool" cars...

you ought to consider yourself BLESSED that you have parents who would buy you such a cool car when you are ONLY 17. and then treat that decision with respect and try to get a good one, that is reliable and not going to break down.

seriously man, refocus your priorities just a LITTLE bit. i was 17 once too...i know the urge/desire to get a cool car is overwhelming..as is the desire to score chicks... and at 17, you probably have no concept of money since you have parents who sounds like they give you what you need, when you need it..and having never had to earn a buck and save or pay your own way, you think money grows on trees. it doesn't. mommy and daddy work hard for that money, and every cent they spend to fix your car is a cent they won't have in their reitrement fund when they are 80, it's money you won't have for family vacations, or for YOUR college... etc etc.

don't waste money. be glad you're getting an 8. and don't kill yourself in it.

first of all. why would i want a bmw? if i wanted a bmw, i'd get a 335. but my friend already has one, and i dont want to copy him.

second. i dont want to drive a pos car that has like 100+ miles on the car, that im ashamed of driving especailly when im driving my friends around.

third, "i have to appreciate what i got?" or "feel blessed?" i do feel that. i just have the benefits of getting another car. do you know why? because my brother needs a car, and im giving him my mazda6. so now im looking for a rx8.

fourth. my parents are business owners, and its not that hard what they do.

fifth, im not a spoiled, my brother just needs a car now, and im giving him mine... which means i'll need one.

girls isnt my priority. i just want a good looking car i can be proud driving. ( i already have one, but i have to give it up to my brother)

id go for the silver one...it has fewer miles and navi which is awesome..and if anything you can always repaint the car to be black!

hah, hmm, i do get some, ive just liked rx8s for a while. but i was less fortunate enough to get a 6 instead. i guess im spoiled. but i dont ask for anything, things are just given to me. i dont want a knew car. theres no point. i am humble, who said i wasnt. civics suck, everyone knows that. and gas is cheap in my town.
