Yes that is exactly it. I have a good line on some other rims but I have been debating getting the 16's form the 8. I had the 18's on my old 8, but i dont really want to add spacers unless i absolutely have to . Matt

 

Curious how much a set of 16s would run? I've been toying with the idea of putting them on my 8 (and smaller brakes) for the ice racing season next year...

 

The reason the 16 inch rims won't fit a manual RX-8 is because of brake caliper clearance. The manual has larger brakes as does the GT model with automatic transmission.

 

Wow I think this is the frist time 4 Years has ever missed something that was said. He stated he also wanted Smaller brakes and I assmume he means swapping the base auto discs and calipers onto his car.

 

I mentioned it for you because it wasn't really explained other than they won't fit.
