Do you even know what shinka means? It means evolution. What ones meaning behind it is up to the beholder. When I wanted the badges is to celebrate that rotary has been around for 40 and will cont! I thought we were all united in our likings of our vehicles. Im not putting a GT-R badge or FORD. They both go with the vehicle. Stop hating, there is no reason for it. I never front so step off. I know several ppl who own RX-8's and they told me to stay off this site because of ppl like you (you kow who you are) that always have a smart remark. Chill life is too short!

Shinka is a trim package. Putting Shinka badging on your car is just as bad as putting a Type-R emblem.

To put it in perspective, some eclipse owners liked the "Spyder" emblem from the convertibles, so they put it on their hard tops. Well, that's just idiotic.

life is short, we have a right for our opinions and to express our opinions, please understand that when you post things like this, everyone has a right to express their opinion on the subject, and as a forum, this allows the exchange of knowledge and opinion.

i'm not condoning what you're doing, im not saying that "you shouldn't do this or else..", im expressing my personal opinion on the subject. you can do whatever you want to do to your car, you can put an rx7 badge on it for all i care and put a toyota emblem on it, its your car and im just expressing my personal view.

also understand that you have the ability to search, and do research.

everyone should be a little stronger and secure with themselves because there will be critics everywhere. it bugs me to know people can't take comments and opinions.

the OP is asking if anyone knows where to get a certain badge, not people's opinion if he should get it or not and/or how stupid it would look on his car...

No one is stopping him. He can paint the damn thing titty pink for all I care.

I believe we all understood the question but considering this is still a public forum we volunteered our opinions anyway. Get over it.

I don't like to get involved with this kind of banter, but what makes your opinion that he keeps his opinion out of this thread override his ability to post his opinion here?

Wow! As happens so often around here, a very basic question has blown into another whine fest about who is right, and who has the right. I have to sort of agree w/ dj in principle, but not the tone. If you can answer the question, then please do. If you cannot, try to be polite and move on to another thread. Just because you have the right to post anything you wish, doesn't mean you always should. I know, I know.......kinda like my post right?lol

A 2007 would be a 40th anniversary??

in Japan.

i think all 2008 models should have gotten that badge since it was meant to commemorate the 40th year of the rotary in the first place..

mazda took a different marketing strategy by making a special edition

Put the badge on for 2008 to celebrate the anniversary, but take it off when 2009 rolls around.

I'm not trying to be rude, i'll retract the poser comment but nothing else. if you can't stand a public forum and public opinion, then don't post at all. Once you post something in a public forum, anything goes (though it may not be relative to the original subject). Don't tell me that i can't do something on a public forum. If you do, make you're own forum and be a moderator in it and you can be the best tyrannical moderator ever. :bootyshak

back to the subject, the 40th anniversary badge should only belong to the 2008 rx8 because the 2008 rx8's are the 40th year. if you're car is 2004, then custom make a badge that says 36th anniversary. it would just be like putting the fc's 10th anniversary badge on the 86 rx7.

and anyways, i'm sure you can find this anywhere, the dealerships might have a spare emblem that you can buy.

to the OP,

you know what? i also REALLY like the 40th anniv badges as well. they are unique like our cars. too bad i found this out after i picked up my '07 in oct... although i still love my VR gt... i'm feeling the wrath of owning that color. it attracts some attn you may not want.

anyways, those badges seem really nice and can easily be an collectible if you can hold on to it long enough. unused of course... just some food for thought.
