Thanks for the info...

The steering wheel I seem to like...not the buttons but the design...besides that....the seats I like.

The headlights are horrid. The yellow lens is integrated probably making it pretty difficult to go clear corner. The black style on our models look meaner IMO.

still don't dig it, but thanks for sharing the pix...

what would've been nice is if they got rid of the dual exhausts and made the current rear rotary accent the single exhaust. that would be not only unique, but bad-***.

that's all it was ever intended to be; a makeover. (not a redesign) The 16X Rotary is already being prototyped, no sense in spending additional money to squeeze out a few extra ponies on the 1.3 Renesis when something much bigger and better is already in the works.

Not a fan of the looks...the MS version is super hawt though! (even though I would never fit in those race seats)

I just want those rims for my '04. Are those the same as any current aftermarket or are they a custom Mazda rim?

Rims...

I believe the rims are a Mazda only product. The 18" semi-polished ones are on the 40th aniv. car this year. The '09 model gets the 19" black/gunmetal (whatever you want to call it) version. Supposedly (since we can not weigh them yet) the 19" version is supposed to be lighter than our 18" wheel.

Only the R3 trim level will get the 19" gunmetal wheels. The sport, touring and grand touring trim levels will get the same 18" wheels that the 40th anniversary model has. The design of the two is very similar.

Sweet!

Glad you could find clarification on that. The only info I could find was the sport-GT models kept the "current wheel". I was not sure if that is the 40th aniv. edition cars wheel or the '04-'08 regular wheel. Sweet! I want the 18"s for my car then!!

I don't like the steering wheel, not at all. I do like the front end, the rear bumper/diffuser and more open exhuast view (what was the point of putting a stupid dual exhaust on the car, if they were gonna hide it?!). I also like how the original brake vent was deleted from the front fenders, but I don't like ti was replaced with some faux-aston vent, those things look retarded. The seats look perfect......for someone with a 28inch waist. No thx.

swapping to the new OEM gear will likely cost the same as the FEED gear. It will improve quite a bit, and moreso on our cars since we don't have 19" rims. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I sense it will replace the "DO YOU WANT THIS CAR?" ad seen at the top of such sites like Myspace and Facebook. This is sad because this will cause an uprising of RX-8 owners and we will no longer be such an underground elite force. Tears and blood will be shed...

Are the '09s expected out this summer sometime? I'm very interested in test driving one to see if the new gear ratios give you a little faster feel to the car.

I feel like I'm the only one who does not like the '09 models at all. I think the current models are fine just the way they are.

i think they should have left the design of the headlights, they look a lot better with eyelids like mine. also the front black peice in the mouth looks like something off ebay. the rear tail lights are ok and the seats are nice. the rims are beautiful and it looks like they come with somewhat stock mazdaspeed sideskirts. the rear diffuser comes up to high and shows too much of the exhaust which makes it look cheap like the dodge avenger. if youve driven behind one on the road its really annoying, thats all u focus on. or maybe thats just me.
