Hi guys! I started my car this morning, and the Engine Coolant light went on for about 3 min. (My guess was that the car was cold and it was very chilly this morning). I warmed it up a bit and the light dissapeared. I did however check the level of Engine coolant and it is right on the LOW line.
I just have a question, Can I just buy some already premixed Antifreeze (Motomaster pre-mixed), or should I manually buy some and mix in my own water because this is a high powered car? On the cover of the premixed it says good for -52 degrees Celcius. Any help would be great, as the manual it says that if it hits low i should top it off to full. Thanks!

Wow, i thought I was the only one!

Mine went on last week, and upon checking it, the level was towards the low side, but not on low. I filled it up to the high mark, and all was fine.

It seems that all the lights on this car are ULTRA sensitive...don't even get me started about the oil light...

My dealer said this was one of the more common issues, along with the oil light. There is also alot of air in the coolant system. You can hear the air bubbles in the heater core.

I had the same problem, just put some more coolant in the system. The dealer told me that it is a common problem.

Since i've done it, to warning light.

Mango:

Pre-mix is just a convenience, and a high-priced one at that. You are paying antifreeze price for added water, which is only a decent value if your local water is "hard", or high in mineral content (stains your sink).

The only way coolant mix is related to "a high powered car" is that water cools better than antifreeze. So if you're running right on the ragged edge of the car's cooling capability for some reason (added turbo, etc.), you might want to decrease the antifreeze/water ratio to around 30/70, for a safe Vancouver mix (gotta re-test each autumn though). If the premix label claims -52C (!), I'd suspect that it's more like 50/50.

I get water from my dehumidifier........no minerals.
