TopGear8 02-09-2008, 08:21 AM Hey man welcome to the site!
jones75254 02-09-2008, 08:37 AM The RX-8 IS little. It is quite decieving but make no mistake, its pretty small. This became very apparent when i had to take in for servicing once and they gave me a Mazda 3 lowner. When i got home and parked it in my garage i could tell immediately due to less space avaiable in my garage. Its smaller than the 3 both in length and height (by like 4 inches), but looking at the 3 you would think its smaller than the 8.
Also, this guy is coming off from owning a big, heavy mustang. The 8 should feel tiny to him. Light, agile and compact...trademarks of the 8. Congrats and welcome.
Myardor 02-09-2008, 10:21 AM MXracer?
U 2 come from the MX-3.com forum?

no sir. this is my first mazda.
VERY smart move.
Welcome to the addiction.
we'll see how it goes. know i'm going to miss the torque i had (425lb-ft), but the rx-8 is a totally different animal. corners are now my friend!
thanks everyone!
kersh4w 02-09-2008, 12:41 PM you can gain some of that back with a supercharger/turbocharger. but by some i mean maybe half. :D
welcome, the rx8 is a really fun car to drive. i know you'll have a blast.
welcome! remember to post pics when you start modifying your car.
zerobio 02-09-2008, 01:25 PM MxRacerCam,
Congrats on your 8.
New Yorker 02-09-2008, 01:40 PM Welcome, MxRacerCam!
The RX-8 IS little. It is quite deceiving but make no mistake, it's pretty small. That is so true! Standing next to it or sitting inside, it looks and feels like a medium-sized car. But it's not! (When it was introduced Mazda said it's virtually the same basic dimensions as a Porsche 911 Carrera. But it looks larger, for some reason.)
77mjd 02-09-2008, 03:25 PM Welcome! Finally someone converting to the 8 from a muscle car and not complaining about the lack of power!
EdwardsB 02-09-2008, 03:37 PM Have fun with it!
I like when people are in my car for the first time and you take a sharp turn at what we are use to as normal speed...out the corner of your eye you see their hand reach for the door and console to hold on expecting the worst. Then when your out of it you can see the look of amazement on their face!

i've heard its the exact outside dimensions of a 911. but im sure there is an 1" or so of fudging going on.
its the interior that makes it feel so large.

not much point, really. i'll buy another mustang if i want to go fast. i'm surrounded by them everyday (including some of the fastest in the country) so i know that a 300hp rx-8 won't do me much good. :lol2:
welcome! remember to post pics when you start modifying your car.
i'm really not planning on too many mods. tint and a lip spoiler are probably the extent of what i'm going to do. i want to have a car that i'm not going to spend money on for once!
Welcome! Finally someone converting to the 8 from a muscle car and not complaining about the lack of power!
well, you have to be realistic. it's a 1.3L engine. you don't buy these cars for the power, or to make them "powerful", imo. it is what it is. and i'm happy with that! :)
