My sunroof rattles when it is open. i can't seem to find where the noise is coming from. It is fairly loud and it rattles at any speed. Has anyone else the same problem?

 

its fairly common. there's a service bulletin for the sunroof.

 

This is a well known problem. The solution is to replace the sunroof rack all together.

There is a TSB out for US-Spec RX-8, is there even a Mazda dealer in South Africa ?

Thanks for the info. We do have Mazda dealers in all our major towns and cities. The only thing is i dont know if they will cover my problem under warranty because all my Rx8's have been wreaks that i have rebuilt. But I will try anyway. Maybe I will be lucky. Thanks again to all.

 

i would not do this recall, i did mine and i had to take it back cause it was leaking water, its simply not worth the hassle or risking a leak, they fixed it but the nearest mazda is 25 miles away from my house...those mazda monkeys are a joke

 

I had the TSB done on my car, fixed the problem for quite some time but now it's squeeking again.
I'm thinking I might just swing by an auto parts store and get some grease.
