View Full Version : New car = New shots
M Theory: Code Red 01-25-2008, 03:19 PM I just got my 8 and these images are from my first shoot. The monsoon that is sweeping across Southern California has put a hold on shooting, but more will come soon. :banghead:

Huskyfan23 01-25-2008, 08:28 PM nice pics. Always liked the way the 8 looked with the full appearance package minus the spoiler. Very nice!
altspace 01-25-2008, 08:59 PM Nice pics. A bit heavy on the post processing, but still cool. It is VR right?
extra Phil 01-25-2008, 09:57 PM hey M_Theory, just out of curiosity.. how do you create that dreamy/hallucination sort of appearance in the pictues. is it a filter, or just photoshop tricks? love the pics btw
Razz1 01-25-2008, 10:05 PM Those trucks make the picture ugly.
8rotor8 01-25-2008, 10:08 PM always so negative Razz1....
faboo 01-25-2008, 11:00 PM nice pics...nice car

shinka213 01-25-2008, 11:23 PM very nice pics....
is that a copper red shinka?
like the back drop too!!!
A.Mair 01-25-2008, 11:51 PM the shots are nice with the angles but i agree with altspace the lighting with lens flare is a bit much for me
Nick R 01-26-2008, 12:00 AM I'm guessing by the first two pics that its copper red. Apperance package with no wing makes it look just like mine. Nice car.

Thanks, its a filter trick in photoshop. Just google Jim Fiscus tricks and you'll find it. :icon_tup:
The car is Velocity Red, I just like to mess with things in photoshop and change colors and appearances of things. I have to get my headlights realigned thats why I have one huge light flare on the drivers side.
kersh4w 01-26-2008, 06:27 PM wow, a new comer telling people to search.
"great potential, this one has."
the stig 01-26-2008, 07:33 PM i like the last picture, can be on official mazda ad. nice shot
kersh4w 01-26-2008, 07:34 PM agreed. i made it my desktop. :P
i wish it was centered though.
M Theory: Code Red 01-26-2008, 09:09 PM hey M_Theory, just out of curiosity.. how do you create that dreamy/hallucination sort of appearance in the pictues. is it a filter, or just photoshop tricks? love the pics btw
agreed. i made it my desktop. :P

Nah, thats what I like it about it. It gives the image a sense of motion and flow. But thanks for making it your desktop. Much appreciated.
M Theory: Code Red 01-27-2008, 07:31 AM I got bored waiting for it to stop raining... so I thought I would post another shot from my last shoot.
I really hate how the web ruins color on images.:banghead: :cussing:

shinka213 01-27-2008, 10:44 AM that looks really nice....
did you say youre using a special software for these effects...
PS...there might not be anything wrong with your headlights...the OEM pattern is meant to look like a "zigzag" when theyre on...
M Theory: Code Red 01-27-2008, 03:26 PM Yeah... photoshop haha. As far as the headlights, my drivers side aims really high up and its usually pointing at houses 2nd floor windows rather than the ground. There's no way that can be right. I'll see if i can get a shot of the light beams and someone can maybe tell me if thats right or not.
Fortunate Few 01-27-2008, 04:31 PM nice! the lens flares are a little cheesy but at the same time they make the picture look good.
downshift 8 01-27-2008, 05:24 PM very nice pictures.
Mazdaspeed RX8 ver2 01-28-2008, 01:23 AM 3rd pic is the best IMO! Loving it!
Jedi54 01-28-2008, 02:27 AM killer looking pictures
photo chick 01-28-2008, 05:15 AM the shots are nice with the angles but i agree with altspace the lighting with lens flare is a bit much for me
+1
if the flares were a little smaller, they would add rather than overwhelm. but your shots have awesome quality! you should watermark your shots

yeah, I know. I am working on a few different shots to get that taken down a notch. I do need to water mark them for sure. Thanks for the compliments though.
A.Mair 01-28-2008, 02:48 PM I searched for that jim dude you talked about. His photography is amazing. Anyone interested in photography should check out his site. Amazing work
tjbourgoyne 01-28-2008, 02:57 PM #3 good. Ditch the gimmick lighting and get that car to some real scenery and out of a storage facility. What camera are you using?

It's definitely not a gimmick, its from the way my telephoto lens was reacting to specular light hitting the lenses. Anyways, I love urban landscapes and very industrial backdrops for my shots. But, don't fret this is just the beginning for my new RX8. :fingersx: I'm using a Nikon D70 but sometimes I shoot with a Canon 5D.

Yeah dude, Jim Fiscus is the fucking man. His work is amazing. I get a lot of inspiration from him. Also, check out www.trevorpearson.com I'll be interning with him soon. He has beautiful lighting!
Ross_Dawg 01-29-2008, 02:02 AM i like that copper red WAYYY more than traditional VR. but thats just my opinion
