I was wanting to know what do you have to do to shoot flames? I was told when i bought my car it does shoot flames. He said i need 93 octane and it will. but i did that and a friend watched and saw nothing. i want this effect i think it adds character.. i have my cat punched out and stock exhaust right now. i am going to get either borla or racing beat. any suggestions.

rev to redline, let off the gas quickly

repeat a few times and it should pop and flash quite nicely

Also, its easier with 100 octane race gas.

don't let the police see you or they might take your car and fine you for not having the cat on .min charge for no cat. starts at $10,000 american dollars not to include the flame effect.my 2cts.it looks cool as hell on the track but in public you might get a nasty fine for it.

$10000 Bucks for having no cat? How can they fathom charging that much?

Can shoot flames with stock cat. Crappy California 91octane from shell + consistent high revving under load then letting off did it for me (unintentionally). This was right after (about a week or two) my MAF, Cat, and o2 were replaced under warranty too :Eyecrazy:

i got a 07 with a full agency power(cat delete pipe, and mufflers n pipe) i shoot when shifting high. or rev in place to 8-10k then off gass, then real quick slam the gas to the floor fast. pop, flame, SMILE!

just drive on the highway for a minute at 6500 rpm or so. that heats up your exhaust system. Now when you push it higher and let off the gas, you'll get flames.

or, you can develop a map for your fuel system that dumps fuel so you always get flames.

right now i get flames on call because my bov + maf fuel management system.

Racing Beat Cat-back with cat-less midpipe, winter time so a little more fuel obviously but it pushes out a lot bigger ones on the road in the summer. Either way I enjoy carving through turns better than throwing out flames.

Yepper, a Mid pipe will do it.

Also not having a Cat can get your car impounded.

Yes because s2000's are rice and natural traits of rotaries = rice?

Rotaries burn fuel ::relatively:: inefficiently - combine that with running rich and what happens? Flames, whether you like it or not...

Natural trait or not, when your looking to just make flames just to impress some kids it hints of a ricer effect.

Youtube!!! dude....just youtube! Just type in ..like RX8 shooting flames or whatever.... you will find tons of clips....and a lot of the users explained why or what makes their cars shoot flames. You can just pick whichever set up you want....and go with it.

Some uses flame throwers
Some uses spark plugs...cuz they want small blue flames shooting up continuously....
Some uses aftermarket exhaust system with straight pipe/mid pipe/ cat delete.......
Some uses 100 oct gas
There are several ways to do it. :)

But I doubt that stock exhaust with cat would shoot flames at all..... I tried it with my stock.............hundred times! no flames whatsoever....just smokes...lol
