View Full Version : Buying a new car (for the wife)
alphapenguin 01-16-2008, 05:25 PM My wife recently totaled her '02 Civic EX and has to get another car. She really refuses to get a domestic car, and wants something as efficient in gas with the same amenities and price range, so I guess we have to look for another Civic (what she is leaning toward) or maybe a Corolla. I told her to consider a mazda3, but I dont think she is interested.
Any suggestions out there?
I offered her to take my 8, but she hates driving a stick, and then again I'd be out of a car:-)
I guess I am going to be strolling over to the Honda dealer. Does anyone know if getting invoice on a 08 Civic is possible?
thanks,
Alex
DOMINION 01-17-2008, 12:35 AM Dont get a Horolla LOL they are to big VS the Honda. Get the new 4 door Honda if anything. I would try to talk her into a Mazda 3 or 6. Good luck!
Fortunate Few 01-17-2008, 02:20 AM get her a mazda 3!
Nopstnz8 01-17-2008, 03:04 AM get her a mazda 3!
+1 to that! It was rated higher than both of them.
RojoOcho 01-17-2008, 05:57 AM tell her she can't get the Honda unless she drives the 3
Smoke Honda 01-17-2008, 11:54 AM The Nissan GT-R is coming around soon. Tell her to take the train until then.
Cody Red 01-17-2008, 11:58 AM ditto for the 3. it's got some good ratings all around.
rglbegl 01-17-2008, 12:06 PM Does it have to be dealership new, or are you also looking at used cars?

Huey52 01-17-2008, 12:27 PM My wife has a Lexus is250 (smaller 6 cyl) and my daughter a Mazda6 (with a 4-banger). They each very much enjoy them.
BlueEyes 01-17-2008, 12:52 PM Tell her if she wants to be picky, she can buy her own car.
Huey52 01-17-2008, 01:47 PM Obviously spoken by a man who isn't married, or hasn't been/doesn't expect to be for long. ;)
Tell her if she wants to be picky, she can buy her own car.

playdoh43 01-17-2008, 02:28 PM the new altima sedan looks very good, wont consumer report car of the year over the new accord. the 4 cylinder is a great cheap sporty family car.
alphapenguin 01-18-2008, 02:50 PM thanks for the suggestions, she is insisting on a Coupe Civic EX. I've been talking to the dealers and am coming close to a deal. They are pretty much giving me invoice price for one, but I am trying my hardest to get a better price than that:-) It seems like they just might budge, so we have to see. I wanted her to go test drive a Mazda3, so I will see if I can get her in one.
I wanted to have a looksee at the altima coupe, but that might be out of her price range (she is the one paying for it):-)
I will update.
the stig 01-18-2008, 06:29 PM yea, small, cheap and save gas. just get a civic. since she is not looking for anything for spirit driving
