View Full Version : staying small...
Morgan 01-11-2008, 12:38 AM well, in the past year, i've gained a little over 7lbs. Now, normally this wouldn't seem like a big deal...but its bc i started to eat like crap and never worked out...so after finally hitting 122lbs, i decided it was time to do something about it
I started cutting back on the snacking (i LOVE me some chips and dip!) and tried to figure out some type of exercise i'd actually do. Now, i love love love running, but cannot do it in the cold..and living in KY makes that nearly impossible for like 5 months. I know almost everyone gains weight in the winter, esp us super skinny people bc we have to find SOME way to stay warm, but i refuse this year..haha.
So my friend made me a meal plan and a workout plan..unfortunatly, i hate chicken 832975842 times a day, and 90% of the other food..I realized it was mostl my snacking that was killing my diet, so i cut back on that, started eating breakfast (oat meal FTMFW!) and bought me one of those workout/balance balls...i also have taken up running up and down the stairs of my apt until i can't move anymore..WOW. Great cardio + freaking killer leg workout!
When i worked at the gym, the personal trainers swore by these things and showed me a decent amount of exercises on them. Ive been playing on these thing for a little over a week now and have already lost 4lbs.
My goal is to get around 110lbs, so ive got some where in the 7-10lbs range left to loose (depends what day you ask the scale..haha-and yes, i do it around the same time everyday!)
Anyhoo's, i'm very proud of myself, and thankfully have remarkable genetics and get toned very quickly..i'm so glad to see the outline of my 6pack coming back! :)
So i figured, since i'm down 4, and have a few more to go, (and yes i'm well aware muscle weighs more than fat...but i still have my goals.) i'd share my excitment with the world....or at least you guys! :) lol
RX-GR8 01-11-2008, 12:41 AM 122 pounds wow you're a hefer! i'm 127 you're catching up to me. 110 seems to light for your frame. you're 5'7 if i recall? :)
Morgan 01-11-2008, 12:53 AM Correct..i'm actually closer to 5'8 sadly :( lol. I wanna be short!
paulmasoner 01-11-2008, 12:59 AM morgan doll, you realize that the average person's weight can fluctuate as much as 5-6 pounds in a day just from water weight?
i have seen a personal difference of 11 pounds before in extreme cases with myself.
you gorgeous at 117 or 127 or 147, long as you dont start going near 97, then you'd be scary
ZoomZoomH 01-11-2008, 12:59 AM 110 is too skinny for someone 5'7"-5'8"
and you really don't want to be shorter than that, girls in that height range are just about *perfect*
ZoomZoomH 01-11-2008, 01:01 AM and you are right, those balance balls are excellent workout tools
Morgan 01-11-2008, 01:21 AM Aw, thank's paul! I don't want to go under 110!!
and zoom, i'd like to be a littttle shorter, but i'd agree that *normall* 110lbs would look not so good on a girl as tall as me, but i have a really little bone structure (minus my huge hips) so thats what i want to be that small
paulmasoner 01-11-2008, 01:28 AM OMG hips.... skeet
tjbourgoyne 01-11-2008, 01:57 AM Morgan dieting is for panzies. Eat what you want and exercise like a beast is my motto. 8-12 miles a week running and 3-4 days on the weights is how I get it done and eat whatever I want. I do try to stay away from white bread and carbs in general and seldom eat junk food but if I want a pizza or bacon cheeseburger I never feel guilty because with the amount I workout it has little to no effect. My best investment however is my Powertec rack. I can workout anytime, no gym fees, driving there, can play my music loud, no waiting for equipment and my neighbors come over and we spot each other. I should have done it years ago.
enforcer 01-11-2008, 02:12 AM Before and after pics please....!

morgan i added you to my myspace friends list :)
Fortunate Few 01-11-2008, 02:42 AM man i need to go on a diet... i can deal with the working out but holding back from food is going to be hard.
altspace 01-11-2008, 05:36 AM 110! wow that's small. Sounds like your on the right track though. Nice work.
tjbourgoyne 01-11-2008, 07:24 AM Besides getting my own gym I cut out TV. I found myself getting off late from work and falling asleep on the couch. After a couple of months I said F!@# that. I started my workout like clockwork immediately after work. I also used the time away from the TV and found myself a better paying job with less hours. Sometimes I see some of the guys I use to work with and they look horrible, 30 year old guys and they look every bit of 45.
Feras 01-11-2008, 08:01 AM morgan i have to say after meeting you the last thing i was thinking was that you needed to diet. You're pretty :) but hooray for working out anyway
Morgan 01-11-2008, 08:36 AM I don't watch a whole lot of TV. I DVR Scrubs and Nip/Tuck, but other than that, i'm usually doing other stuff.
Thanks Feras! It's not that i "need" to, but its more of a personal thing i guess.
and thanks for the support from everyone else..
(Zoom, you're added on myspace!)
I stay at my goal weight, by eating slimfast for breakfast and lunch. Then a 1000 calorie dinner.
Morgan 01-11-2008, 09:06 AM I don't like slimfast...I just like the whole thing of the balance ball and cutting down snacks. i couldn't believe what a difference it made

well it's probably really easy for you because you have fast metabolism to start with :)
plus balance ball exercises alone will and do kick your ass when you do it properly :lol2:
RojoOcho 01-11-2008, 10:19 AM I personally don't like short girls. I don't see them; literally and figuratively.
SideOfBacon 01-11-2008, 10:49 AM shawties ftw!
MyRXdrug 01-11-2008, 12:13 PM Join a boxing club that focuses on cardio.
I've seen guys after a holiday balloon up to 155-160 go down to a fight weight of around 135 pounds and still look healthy.
My 'normal' weight when lifting weights is 125-135 but I can get down to 112 if I work hard on cardio. 112 is definetly not healthy for me though.
kimberly lynn 01-11-2008, 12:28 PM I tried dieting for a week this winter. It didn't work. I found that I ate worse on the diet because, feeling unfulfilled after meals, I'd snack a lot. I've gone back to just eating pretty healthy food (but not diet food) in smaller portions and working out.

this used to be my problem.. now i have coffee grounds with hoodia which suppresses hunger.. makes it easy/easier to diet. I also do the new slimfast shakes (slim fast optima shakes) which also do the same. I am no longer hungry and only consume around 750-800 cals a day.

DO you keep on the shakes even after you've lost weight?
SideOfBacon 01-11-2008, 12:48 PM DO you keep on the shakes even after you've lost weight?
yes. I have a shake and a V8 every morning. 270 calories (200 for the shakes and 70 for the can of V8).
RotaryP7 01-11-2008, 01:39 PM Well, I always stay at the same weight range.. I never gain weight.. And I eat like a freaking pig.. Me overweight? Hahahahahaha..

Use to say the same thing until I hit 32. I excercise and eat healthy but If I went a week or so of consuming nothing but fast food or junk I'm looking at 5-7 lbs easy. Before, I could to eat a small house along with household pets and nothing.

BigRed 01-11-2008, 03:27 PM on the dieting subject, here is what ill say:
although calories do have a part in your diet, they shouldnt matter if you are really on a proper diet. I went on this thing that individualizes a diet for a person so that it matches your body type; i.e. your metabolism, your blood type, and about 150 other questions that you would think are pointless. I use to weigh 230 lbs and I was 5'5''. JK I weighed 230 at 6'8", and am now around 195 with this specific diet and am very healthy. thats the most important thing for me though is the healthiness aspect of it. plus i am much faster on the track too :).
SideOfBacon 01-11-2008, 03:36 PM 6'8"??? how you fit in the 8? just sit on the floor after removing the front seat? :P
Morgan 01-12-2008, 01:18 PM one of my ex's was 6'8 and my brother is 6'7..they'r squished, but it works! lol
