RussellP 10-28-2003, 03:51 AM how much $ Dick Carlson 10-28-2003, 05:04 AM Three questions: Why is the fuel filler flap open? What's that junk hanging from the mirror? What's the device on/near the gas pedal? Psylence 10-28-2003, 08:19 AM 348s are cheeeeeeeap to buy these days! Not into the mini-testarossa look myself, but I hope your friend has good luck with it! :) matt 10-28-2003, 08:38 AM That's not a standard 348. It looks by the tail lights to be a 'Series Speciale' They only made 100 of them. That car would sell for $60-80 depending on milage and condition. THere is nothing by the gas pedal. All Ferrari's have a chrome scuff mark protector there. It's to keep you shoes from rubbing the center console, or to look at the dog crap on the bottom of your shoe. 348 are great cars. They have a hot start problem from time to time. It seems that the flywheel grease comes off and alters the weight of the wheel throwing off the sensor. the 95 is the best year of the 348. matt 10-28-2003, 08:46 AM BTW - my condolences. Since it has 9k miles, if it has not had a major service, it is going to need one. Timing belts ( in this case, the 348 only has one) should be replaced every 3 years or 30k miles. This requires a engine out service $ 5k+. Also, all the tires should be changed and the fluids including the brake fluid needs to be flushed. ECU's (both) can go bad from non-use so he might get a check engine light or a slowdown light. If he does that is normal. If he has any questions, have him drop me a line. I know all the good independant shops and I know most of all the little Ferrari querks. I also have the service manual and parts catalog for it. my e-mail is mmlemus@yahoo.com Matt Dick Carlson 10-28-2003, 08:59 AM Originally posted by matt THere is nothing by the gas pedal. Something on the keys? matt 10-28-2003, 09:25 AM It looks like an alarm fob MyRxBad 10-28-2003, 09:25 AM Nice 348. 2 weeks ago I got to ride in a 348 challenge car that was fully race prepped on Mosport Race Track. I was impressed with the car. RX-GR8 10-28-2003, 09:42 AM nice car. Quick_lude 10-28-2003, 10:29 AM Originally posted by Dick Carlson What's that junk hanging from the mirror? It's "beads" not "chain", and I don't see a crucifix on it. Is that a respectful way to display what represents a "crown of thorns"? Why not a plastic Jesus on the dash, too? mikeb 10-28-2003, 11:49 AM Originally posted by Dick Carlson Three questions: Why is the fuel filler flap open? What's that junk hanging from the mirror? What's the device on/near the gas pedal? on the rear view is a cross , he is religious gas cap he must of forgot to close but I closed it later next to the gas pedal I dont know as for price I didn't ask mikeb 10-28-2003, 11:50 AM thanks matt I will warn him moogle 10-28-2003, 10:30 PM Hey Mike I saw the same Ferrari on 57 South Bound, and I was behind you checking it out. 57/10 freeway. They are worth more then the standard 348. pullinteef 10-29-2003, 03:48 PM I saw an interview on TV where some celeb was showing his car, he had a cross hanging on the mirror, and said "I'm not religious at all, I just hope someone who breaks into my car might be" Thought that was pretty funny. Dick Carlson 10-29-2003, 04:07 PM I just wouldn't want that stuff waving around from the mirror while I'm driving. It goes along with mystic crystals, dream-catchers and high-school graduation tassels.
