With over 50 sailings a week to ports in northern European and Scandinavia, it is the second busiest ro-ro port in the UK. I am really interested in the quality of the Mazda interior. I commented upon this to Mazda marketing the day after I test drove the car (Sept 14th at Mazda Bookham) I said that I thought the leather looked a little cheap and already showed signs of 'wear n tear' He claimed that they were 'pre-production' hand made cars, and that they would be different to the ones delivered in November. I would really aprreciate your feedback...

If your right Lensman, then we have a problem. The car I drove had leather seat 'wear n tear' which you would expect on a car of 30,000 miles...

I think at least some of them are. The one my dealer had for their RX-8 event a month or two ago - while I was away, bah - had been used by the press previously.

According to the salesman there who's looking after RX-8 pre-orders, it was hand-built and was a little shoddily put together in places. I doubt the press treat these cars very kindly either; no doubt they've been abused in all sorts of unspeakable ways.

OK, I (thankfully) stand corrected. Perhaps a discussion poll is in order to see what owners of leather seats think of the quality? I'll do that next.
