FYI on our last meet up - we had 6 cars that showed up altogether (more people with the gfs & wives in tow), so it was really lively! Bro Lonewolf's ICE & customized in-boot RX8 plate (you got to see it to understand what this is) was inspiring. Everyone else was very friendly and we talked about lotsa stuff on customization of our rides and just had a good time in general (I know I did!).

We enjoyed each other's company so much that we are having another gathering very soon. Here are the details:

Parking/Meet-up location: One George Street Office building (parking is $3.21 flat)
Date: 29th Dec (Sat)
Time: 5.30pm
Activities:
(1) Drool over each others rides/customizations/mods
(2) Dinner at boat quay
(3) Light drinks (non-alcoholic!!) into the night + share war stories, etc

Cheers to everyone who came for the 2nd meetup. it was indeed a very good and memorable meetup. Hope the following more to come meetups will have the same good response from the fellow bros out there. And many great thanks to those bros with gd/bad experience to share with the new rookies. Giving them valuable advices. :)

Rounding lead by ivan and team was a fast adrenaline pumping pace followed by 26 other rx8 bros. It was also an eye opener for the public vehicles on the road to get a taste of the rx8's rotary power.:lol2: They must have been longing for one when they see the convoy zooming at high speed one by one. Unfortunately for one of our fellow bro who lost control of the powerful car. Our condolences to his beautiful car who met with an accident. Thank god that he and his gf are fine and no harm was done to them. That was most important! We hope he will have alot more good luck shining on him after a bad experience. Though it was a painful lesson to learn. We all know that knowing your car and understanding them is very important before you even unleash the beast in your car. Hope the veterans out there will impart more knowledge to the rookies out there.

I'd like to thank all of you for your support last night. Especially Jasper, Darren, Ivan and whoever I missed out at the blur of the moment. I'm sincerely grateful and very appreciative.

I've taken all necessary measures to ensure that my girlfriend is well and I'm taking full responsibility of the incident.
My parents are supportive and the car is under repairs. My parents are also very happy that you've all taken such concern to the matter and are very grateful.

Thank you all for your support last night. I heard that a few bros here visited the Comfort Delgro workshop to take a look at the car as well.

Also, sorry for having to leave the group like that. I'm definitely learning from the experience and I'm going to be driving like a careful old man for a long while.

our cars are modded in handling in one way or another. An rx8, that is not modded in handling, is accident waiting to happen, unless u r trained from young to counter steer.

This is a shock lesson for everyone to learn, especially the newbies. The old birds has been thru many roundings without any mishaps. This is the first time such serious accident happen. Next rounding, if there is any, pls drive with care.

G'day bros!! Thank you for a memorable meet-up yesterday!

Here's a quick recap for those who missed out on the action:

Start of meetup:
This was planned at One George Street car-park at 1730hrs on 29th Dec. At least 9 bros had confirmed their attendance online. I received a last minute call from Jason at 1600hrs saying that he's bringing along a bunch of old birds who are at MG to join the meet. It started raining heavily as I left the house and arrived at the carpark 1720hrs thinking that I would be the first. To my surprise, there were already at least 10 rides parked there and a bunch of cool guys hanging around talking & chilling. Within the next 30minutes, rest of the cool guys filtered in and we had approximately 15 rides lined up (check out the first picture attached). Other folks who were coming in to park must wondered why the weekend car expo had moved here :lol2: As always, we went about meeting new bros & admiring each others rides (some really souped up!!). And Lonewolf got his sexy ass checked out again (I'm refering to his ride)!!

Dinner time!
The sporting bros who came by to say hi moved out their merry ways. Approx 12 of us made our way to boat quay for dinner! Lotsa laughs and stories.. I won't share what we were drinking that night :beer: I am smacking my head now for forgetting to take pictures with the dinner group :banghead: I guess the rest won't get to see the table full of hot babes that were there.. too bad..

Rounding!!
So.. its our first time rounding as a newbie group.. couldn't figure out what route to take. Jason called at 2100hrs & said that he's got another group gathered for rounding and we can all go as one. Old birds will be leading! Woo hoo! We moved out from One George Street & that was already an experienced with about 8 rides moving in "convoy" to start point (Kallang Macs) - check out the 2nd picture attached I took of the cars in front of me.. how many RX8s can you spot?). I was happily snapping away & the bros in front were freaked out wondering where the TP with the speed cam was :yelrotflm

We rolled into Kallang Macs and OMG!! There was already a huge lineup of 8s there!! The white parade was in town too (check out the 3rd picture).. boy.. I'm glad I bought velocity red :lol: So we hung around the whole night, chilled, met more new bros.. we eventually had a total of 24 RX8s for rounding!! How's that for impressive?? I won't go into details on what we did when we rolled out.. but I can tell you it was an adrenaline rush to see so many bros on the road together!

Most of us left at approx 0300hrs plus.. I left with more knowledge about doing up my ride and driving it safely.. more importantly, I left with more friends with similar interests/passions!
