recently, i noted there is a 'Mmmm' sound when you turn the key to 'ON', before cranking/starting the engine. it lasts abt 3 secs and goes off after that. no issue with cranking tho.
not sure if this sound is new. any potential issue/problem?

i hope it's normal cos I only started hearing this after having the 8 for 2years+... and after changing the fuel filter/steering rack. having said tt, i can only hear it what the surrounding is quiet. at least i'm not alone thanks!

Agreed. Normally is the fuel pump. Optra have the same sound. And there is another possibility, that, the aircond vent selection (air from outside flowing in / in-car circulation only). The vent will auto open/close when you on/off the car. (maybe the mouse bite my wiring and cause short circuit  )
