The end came, without any official word or fanfare from the company, on December 17, when production of the vehicle ended at the Karmann plant in Osnabrück, Germany.

An object of such derision around here should not go out quietly.

When this gets to $3,000 I’m buying one just for the hell of it.

I saw two on evening on the way home. A coupe and a 'vert. They were racing one another.... in the rain. We were just slow moving metallic pylons to them.

And thousands sit in Chrysler lots waiting to be sold.

might be a good buy for one of my girls. $15,000 would be cool.

That would be borderline child abuse, I think...

When does the last PT Cruiser Convertible die off the line?

You can easily find them under $15 now for 05's. A much unloved car but I don't mind the styling actually. Seriously if you can get a 4 year old convertible in a year or 2 for $10k? Seems like a deal to me, hell use it as a beater or a first time car like 4me2 said.

But...but...Kids aren't supposed to drive cars that cost $30k at one point in time!!! It's too much for them! Too much, I tell ya!!! They need to learn how to drive in a cheap, rusty, antequated, hulking metal deathtrap!! :crying:

That really is the question. If you want a Mercedes roadster, the Crossfire is a really good deal. But, in return for saving 10K, you have to drive a car that looks like a pooping dog.

We all had our fun knocking this car (it is a piece of rolling turd after all), but when it does get cheap enough, it'd make a great beater car.

Haha, my friend just got home from Basic or bootcamp or whatever and said he wants to put his bonuses into a coupe. The top choice on the list was this thing. He won't buy an 8 as I have one so I have been trying to talk him out of this thing but his mind is set. Looks like he will be getting one of these.

Well at least he'll get one for cheap. Make sure he checks ebay and autotrader. don't buy this thing new!

A local chrysler dealer has 6 new '06 Crossfires for sale, all of them under $20k.

exactly, arent they using the old AMG V6 kompressor???? hell i drove a C32 and that car was moving...im not sure of the weight difference but i bet that srt-6 is moving too...i wouldnt mind buying one if i saw it in a few years around 15k, it would be a nice lil cruiser/project car...

Yeah but it's expensive (overpriced), built with cheap chrystler materials, and only auto

Yeah, sucks they only come in auto and yeah, the msrp is high used srt6's with 20-30k sell for high teens - mid 20's. Car is capable of a high 12 sec 1/4 and have a nice s/c whine with an intake. For under 20k (seen certified used 34k mi w/8yr 80k warranty go for $17,820) you get quite a bit.

I mean no, xfire sucks, die xfire :uhh:

crossfire was my 2nd choice as a car.

its nice. it just had the usual american treatment done to euro cars. aka uglified.

still, if they start going for 10k... my gf needs a new car sometime in the next year.
