New blue color RX-8 [Archive]

New blue colour will be added only to Mazda SPEED version RX-8.
The delivery is announced to be planed to start around Feburary/2004.

limited only 300 cars and only in Japan.

This deep blue color seems really nice to me.

Looks like the same colour as the X2 car. Very nice. Could you translate what it says under "special parts"? I guess it's only listing the Mazdaspeed spoilers, skirts etc. that are fitted...

Yes. you are right. That's just listing what you mentioned.

As I checked now, the same color (strat blue mica: <- I am not sure the spelling is correct) exists for Demio(Mazda2) and RoadStar(Miata).

Strato Blue Mica is the same color that was used on the '03 Miata SE here in the states. It is now a standard color for 2004 Miata's. Looks sweet on the 8..:D

Ah, shucks. I was hoping it was a deep blue clearcoat. Metallic and Mica have their place but I really do prefer a beautiful color all by itself without sparkles.

If that color was available in 2004 in the U.S. , that would be worth waiting for. And with MazdaSpeed goodies, it would be irresistable.

So what's the big deal about the Mazdaspeed version? Aside from the color, new body parts, and suspension gizmos, has the engine been FI'd or something? Tweaked? I dunno..

The MAZDASPEED body kit is available in the U.S. so we really dont have to wait for that RX-8 model to come here

There no words to describe it. That color looks great! Now I'm seriouisly thinking about waiting for it here in the States. It's that sweet. I had finally made up my mind on the red; but I dont know anymore.

HEY. I've researched that color alot and i actually started a thread about that color.

Its the best looking color (picture wise) i've seen in the rx8, i've been running wild trying to call my dealerships asking if they can import that color. Obviously not.

Question is:

Will this color be availible IN THE US FOR PURCHASE IN FEBRUARY!?!?

Please respond quick, this will make my choice even harder for purchasing the rx8.

Guys put it this way, i have the rx8 in my hand, but i can't decide on what color i want!! I decide color, 1.5 weeks later i'll be driving it w/all appearance mods placed on.

So please reply:

Doubt it... maybe when the 2005's come out.. of course mazda is very fond of .5 model add ons.. so maybe a 2004.5?

I wouldn't count on that colour going anywhere outside Japan... they're famous for doing very small volume special editions for the local market only... you might be able to pick up a second hand one and import it in a few years time... but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to take a voyage over the seas... :)

I got a question, how much is to do a very good paint on a car, lets say like the rx8, in that color ^_____^

and is the mazdaspeed ver of the rx8 EVER!!! going to hit the states, WUTEVER COLOR!!!

cause ive calculated how much are all those mazdaspeed parts for the rx8, and its like 12,000 something, i bet its if the mazdaspeed rx8 comes here, it will be cheaper than a rx8 equipped the mazdaspeed parts

half model years..with changes or improvements..

The Mazdaspped Protege came out as a 2003 model... then halfway thru the year they released the 2003.5's which had a different spolier, front facia and wheels. They also introduced new colors.. The original run of MSP's were only avainlable in Spicy Orange Mica and Black Mica.. with the 2003.5's they came out with Laser Blue, Titanium and Yellow.

There is a rumor that the mazda will add some new colors to the next year model.

But no one is sure for that now.:)
