shifter vibrates

ok im guessin the shifter is whats vibrating to a point where something needs to be fixed cause i cant stand it anymore.. the rpms are good they are between 800-850 so its not the engine vibrating... i know we are right ontop of the tranny but it still aint right for it to do that... and i search and everyone is saying to change the coils, wires, clean the maf sensor but what would that have to do with the shifter vibrating like that? has anyone actually fix the vibration for good? if so how? i know this issue has been discused over and over again but i havent found any thread that has this issue solved

I had the same problem...along with someone else on this forum and he had his engine replaced on a brand new car! I just got the recent updates and made sure my plugs and battery was on tight...no loose connections...

Im having the same problem. Motor mounts done about 4k miles ago, only 28k on the car. It just feels sloppy. If Im in 3rd gear at 4k rpms I can tap the gas and feel it rocking front to back multiple times.

i had my mounts replaced and i didnt notice a difference. it made me question the techs at that dealership. so i never went there again.

maybe this summer i'll do it myself. that way i know if it was done right or not. my brothers e36, which has a flat 6, idles smoother.

Bring it in and get the engine updates. There were quite a few done on mine so that may help.

When I would give a little gas at around 80-90km the shifter would vibrate also and felt like the car was going to stall. I brought it in and had the spark plugs tightened/checked and the mounts were good. The 1st update did nothing then I brought it back in for my brakes and the 2nd update seem to help a lot. It bearly happens now.

Don't forget your car adapts to the way you drive so try not to make the problem happen again. Instead of causing the problem I'd avoid it by give more gas and everything would be fine. Now I have nothing to worry about. Problem fixed...maybe from the updates who knows.

Well the dealer said my mounts are fine, but if im in 3rd at 4k rpms and gas it and let off I feel rocking.

They did my clutch not too long ago and ever since then it seems like the car rattles more over bumps and such.

I would call that normal as long as you're talking about a relatively small movement.

I wonder if they properly re-installed the cross members and braces when they put the tranny back in....
