View Full Version : Looking for a laptop that can run Server 2003 R2 Digital_Damage 12-18-2007, 01:00 PM I can't seem to find a freaking laptop that can run Server 2003 R2 Natively. Anyone know of one? caveney 12-18-2007, 01:16 PM pricerange you are looking at? and why do you want a server OS on a desktop style system? especially a laptop? caveney 12-18-2007, 01:18 PM as for finding a laptop "designed" for windows 2003 you wont fine.. you will find either designed for XP or Vista... only thing the laptop needs is a 550mhz processor with 133mhz FSB or faster, VGA video that does at least 800x600, 3gb disk space and min. of 128mb RAM (256mb+ recommended). Digital_Damage 12-18-2007, 01:24 PM Price range is not an issue. Need it for developing sharepoint features, you can not write features on anything except server 2003 R2. Virtual Machines are too bloated and never work right because of the complex alternate access mapping were are doing. The Laptop I have now (dell 820) does not have nic/wirless drivers for server 2003R2. Need a laptop with 3+ GB of ram, 2GHZ+ Cored 2 Duo/ Athlon, 160GB of disk space. laythor 12-18-2007, 01:51 PM I've seen it running on some thinkpads. think it was an r60. Send an email to lenovo and see what they recommend. Mazurfer 12-18-2007, 02:03 PM Think it will run on an iPhone.
