Anybody know a good site for reviews before release date? I know people and critics are seeing it before it comes out. All the sites I know have embargos before release date and my gf keeps picking garbage that winds up in the bargain bin 2 months after release.

and also user reviews... a lot of times others posting their ratings and feedback is better than that advice/rating of critics..

Yahoo won't post reviews before release but the imdb site does, thanks! Roger Ebert gives some of the best reviews, he often has sidebar history and I usually like the movies he gives good marks. The yahoo user reviews are the worst! Giving a movie a bad review because somebody sat in front of you with a Abe Lincoln hat is not a review.

rottentomato.com

I go there most of the time, and reviews are pretty accurate.

Believe me, I wish it were that simple. I've changed tactics with early reviews and it seems to be working. It totally bailed me out of one romantic comedy.

i like rottentomatoes too... it works wonders when you can say "rottentomatoes gave it like 6%; that's worse than gigli." and that's the story of how i got out of watching August Rush.

didn't get me out of Hairspray or This Christmas tho...
