I took my car in for a warranty issue and they had to remove the dash/radio face (defrost button was cracked). Well as soon as i started the car up and turned the radio on and the AC i was hearing beeps from all the controls i was pushing. I know for a fact that my car didn't beep everytime i hit a button or control before i took it in.

My question is, Is everyone elses beeping when they hit a control/button or could they have crossed a wire or something. I don't mind the beeping just wanted to know if it was normal or maybe the newer 8's have this feature...

i think you can turn the beeping offf. What are you hitting? When I change stations, tracks, I think even vol, the car beeps. I dont remember, but I know it does beep. I it an annoying beep, like does it sound like a warning beep?

Aahhhh, guess it was turned off when i got the car and when they did the work something got reset, its not annoying but i think it could be after a while.

Removing the control panel / audio unit (once it's disconnected from the main wiring harness) causes all of the setttings to be restored to their default... in the case of the beep, the default is ON, so that's what happened. I've had my stereo out a couple times, and each time I've had to set everything back the way it was.

Oh, btw, this also affects your Bass and Treble settings... so if your music is suddenly sounding a little flat, check those settings too.

i like the beep, its good because you know when youve hit something by accident or one when a passenger is fiddling with the controls
