I'm pretty sure prostitution is legal there...

Prostitution is legal there, but only in the Red Light District. (like window shopping).

But, im sure that may not fly well at home, so my recommendation would be to head downtown or go out to Munich (about 3 hours east).

Its Kris kringle mart time!! Basically all the christmas fairs are going on now. alot of neat items, great food and gluvine (warm maddog 20/20 bascially).

also, you will be close to burchesgardens (sp). very nice place, alot of sites to see, and a working salt mine which may not sound neat, but really is.

They do indeed, but they still appreciate the native tongue effort.

Getting back to the initial thread's question, in a word - Porsche!

Don't think the wife would appreiciate additional company, and not a fan of Porsche. Any museums in the city? All my transporttation will be walking and subway so it has to be in town.

If wife is going with you, definatly do the Kringle Mart (and bring me back some Kinder Chocolade, looks like an egg).

also, stuttgart does have a museum, cannot remember the name (alot of items from the 13-17th centuries), but they also have (if i recall correctly) 3 castles that you can tour. (been a couple years since i lived there).

You can also go to the train station (bahn-hopf) and get to anywhere in Germany in a couple hours.

all day bus passes can also be purchsed from kiosks near every stop.

lets see, what else.... dress warm, snow there this time of year and alot of humidity (not as bad as here).

there are also corner stores, that if you talk to the people they can tell you alot of hide away sites to see. and bakerys.... omg, nothing like fresh bread in the morning... and fresh meats with krauter butter.... I WANNA GO WITH YOU!!!

btw, was born in Stuttgart

Kinder Chocolade? I will have to check it out.

Wife is not going but she has a knack of feeling when I'm having fun and calls to disrupt it.

My sisters just spent a whole month in germany with my uncle....nothing but public transportation the whole time....Take a train and be in another country in a few hours....its a great way to experience Europe...

They would wake up...hit the bus and/or train see France, Belgium, a few other places...and be back in Germany to go to sleep...
