but you shouldnt be so quick to choose the porsche. the Zonda F is a brilliant car. its nimble, sexy, and has lots of power also. i would say watch these and then vote :)

i wasnt in it when it was driven, but something even faster--ruf rt12. the design of the porsche is so precise though. the engine cover is at least within 2 cm of the wing. its crazy!

9 out of 10 days i would say the porsche....but i voted ZondaF...its fast...and has more of a supercar look...

A car should look like its price tag.....the GT looks semi mundane

I can't believe I am in the minority in choosing the Zonda F. Pure sex, especially in bare carbon. It's what a super car should be, a giant "fuck you, you poor bastards" to everyone who sees you driving it. From the videos, pictures and reviews, the attention to detail is phenomenal and the driving experience divine. Then there is the price, which is about double that of the CGT, and the resale is no doubt much stronger. The CGT is almost plain in comparison.

tajabaho1
12-10-2007, 11:57 AM
I'd pick the Carerra GT, why? because the looks are better more sleek and lovely than the Zonda, but the Zonda is a better performance car

gt sounds so much better. zonda's a better car tho, no doubt.

i'd go with zonda just because my attending has a gt and all i like about it is its sound. i think they really butchered the body line with the gt. looks quite odd if you look at it in person long enough.

12-10-2007, 01:55 PM
what i do wanna know is, why are these cars so damn heavy with all carbon frame?

thsy're almost 3000lbs (the gt, enzo, etc.)

rx8 is around that. i don't get it.

i'd expect 2000lbs at the least with all carbon. rx8, if you change up the frame to carbon, it'd weigh lot less than those two and will have all amenities and will be able to seat 4.

Definitely the Zonda F. It's faster, it's rare, etc.

If I had to actually pay for a supercar? It would be the Ford GT40. A simple pulley change, and the car is making more power than the Zonda F.

Relative to the Zonda, the Carrera GT is not rare. I think I read somewhere that the Carrera GT sold more than the Enzo, Maclaren F1 and Zonda combined.

I would think, at least in the case of the Zonda, that having a giant V12 would have something to do with it. The Zonda only weighs 2700 lbs, and I would guess the V12 weighs pretty darn close to 700lbs.

BigRed
12-10-2007, 05:49 PM
does it really matter to you if they made 500 or 20? seriously though, the numbers are very different, but think across the whole world. do you really care that there would be just that many more in the world? at that point, buy the car that you want--not because it is rare. its that if you know porsche delivers with their boxster, they have to deliver with a care more than 30 times the price...lol

i think the porsche interior will age faster than the zonda, (but maybe not the red interior)

think 80s spacy designs, italian leather never goes out of style

And the Carrera GT is rare, but I've seen a couple on the street. I've never seen a Zonda in person.

I realize it's different strokes for different folks, yada yada, but I can't help but think that people just have no idea about the level of detail and thought the Zonda has been designed with.

I mean, the cars are built one at a time, by hand and every detail is customizable.

Don't get me wrong, the CGT is an incredible car, but the Zonda is just in another league, it's art on wheels.

12-11-2007, 05:42 PM
ok maybe not a honda,

Originally a production run of 1,500 cars was planned. But Porsche announced in August, 2005 that it would not continue production of the Carrera GT through 2006, citing discontinuation was due to changing airbag regulations in the US. As of May 6, 2006, 1,270 GT's had been manufactured, with 604 being sold in the United States.[4]

Production of the Zonda F will be limited to 25 cars, still not US compatible. The next model, due to be unveiled in 2009, will be fully EPA/DOT compatible.

I have not seen either car in person. I have seen/heard an Enzo. O.M.G. Magazine pictures do not do this car justice.

If any of you want to see a Carrera GT in person, you guys can come to my car club meet in the spring. People bring all kinds of exotics, and every year a guy brings his CGT. I will admit that the exhaust note is AMAZING in person.

Here's the thread with more pics of the CGT and other nice cars all over the first page. I don't want to post huge pics in this thread too. http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=115424
