my coolant level is below the low mark and i have 38000km should i just do a coolant flush or add more and can i just buy it antifreeze/coolant what do you guys recommend

Drinking water (tap water) contains A LOT of minerals (contamination!!) that will turn into rust, ruin your whole cooling system !!!

If you want to add water, its better for you to add DISTILLED water. Thats drinking water. but distilled water contains only H2O, nothing else. thats what your cooling system wants.

yes Florida will never snow, not even cooler than 50s weather, but you might want to leave at LEAST 30% coolant, its for corrosive protection.

To the OP : start with a 50/50 premixed coolant first, buy regular ones, do NOT buy Dex Cool garbage.

Wouldn't hurt to do a flush and refill....esp if your car is over 2 yrs old.

Coolant looses it's anticorrosive properties when it gets old....

If you see an FL22 sticker on or near the fill cap, go to a Mazda dealer and get a jug of that. It's a 50/50 mix, and supposed to be good for 10 years.

If not, just get some name brand antifreeze and top off with a 50/50 mix. If the car is cold, don't fill much above the low mark.

I've always used tap water in car radiators, and never had a problem. I keep cars a very long time. Depends where you live, though. If your local water never lathers when you wash with it, it's got a lot of minerals and would be a problem. I'd keep away from bottled drinking water. You never know what municipal supply that stuff comes from, or how much extra mineral junk they add.

thats even worst, like Ken said, god knows where the water came from, remember bottle water just gotta meet certain tap water requirements, meaning it can have a lot of stuff thats ok for humans, but no good for cooling systems

i have an inline filter on my water supply .......... this may be a little off topic but its about 200 bucks and the filters are 50 a piece ........... they have to be changed every 6 months ... but it filters all the water going into my house ............ i dont even want to point out the amount of crap those things pick up ... i heartily recommend one for all!
