I've had a slow leak in one of my tires, and after coming home from a long vacation, my tire is completely flat.
When I bought my car, it didn't have the spare tire option. I carry fix-a-flat in my car for emergencies and was reading on the back that it may cause damage to tire sensors.
Has anyone here used fix-a-flat and had problems with their TPMS after?
Thanks for the help guys!

Mazda supplies the "Instant Mobility System" with the car. It's in a black box in the trunk. Use that instead. :)

or maybe get a new tire. that stuff is not made to "fix" leaks. its just supposed to help get you somewhere safely so you can get a new tire.

It's a slow leak, so pump the tire back up and drive to a tire shop. Have them patch the tire if they can, otherwise order a new tire.

the "instant mobility system" is the fix-a-flat with a fancy label, right? i actually don't have it in mine.
fix-a-flat or anything like it will ruin a TPMS.

Yeah, if you ever use it, get to a tire shop and have the tire removed from the rim and cleaned out ASAP. The fix-a-flat (clear liquid types) work by attacking the rubber, swelling and softening it so it will more likely seal around a puncturing object. But if the material is left in the tire, it will destroy the structure. I used to have tires come apart on the tire machine, simultaneously dumping liquid solvent all over the place. It's no joke.

Thanks for the inputs...I kept the fix-a-flat in the trunk and just filled my tire with air. I think I've already had 3 patches on my tire, so it looks like I'll be buying a new one. Luckily all of my tires are pretty new, so I can get away with buying just the one.
