at the parking lot of walgreens my friends were getting out of my car and this guy passes by and says "Nice doors!" i was like WTF... what about NICE CAR!

guys pulls up to me at a light in his minivan.

Him: "Excuse me"
Me: "Yes"
Him: "Can I ask you something"
Me: "Yes"
Him: "Does your car have rear doors that go like this" <flapping his hands>
Me: "Yes"
Him: <turning to his wife> "See honey" <back to me> "Thanks, your car just won me a bet"

not really a compliment

the best compliment I got I guess was

"damn thats nice, how much that cost you, $60,000?"

I have had several people come up to me and say, "damn, that's the best looking ugly car I have ever seen!" Then they go on to explain that they hated the way the car looked in the magazine photos but in person the car is sweet! To make it even funnier, they always come back for a second or third look. :p

one guy asked me if it was a porshe
and another guy knew it was a rx8 and said seeing my car MADE HIS DAY

I get a lot of looks ...even on the freeway!! :eek: A person in a G35 and a 350z drove next to my car to look at it!! :cool: A lot of comments I get ...is "NICE CAR!!" ..they are really suprised I have one ..someone said ...that's a SEX CAR!! ....haha ...love my car!!:cool:

The funniest thing that happend to me was a asian gangster looking guy came up to me in his Z and was looking at me and my car. Giving the tough guy look and i was like oh geez come on now. Then he rolls his window down and motions to me and asks how much it was then proceeds to tell me that he wants to trade in his Z for the 8.

I proceed to tell him that the z is an awsome car too. Its faster than mine.

His response is he just smiles and says come on man you know yours looks better......

I was inwardly smiling and just said " Ya I have to say im really happy with my 8 "

He gave me thumbs up and drove off.

One time I was dropping my friend's girlfriend off at starbucks to pick up some coffee and this guy in a boxster with no plates yet drives by then turns around and drives by again, then does it a couple more times and finally stops next to me and my friend. We look over and the expression on his face was that of a 4 year old who was once excited about getting his go-bot toy and is now looking at another 4 year old playing with his transformers set :P Priceless.

One time driving through In-n-Out there were a bunch of high school kids at the walk up window and when I finally got up to the window to pay/pickup they saw it and surrounded me. I've never heard so many different ways of saying "nice" ...most of which I've never heard of. I guess I'm not hip with the lingo. Most of them wouldn't even try to talk to me, but one kid who evidently knew his stuff asked if it was a 13b in it... it took an employee to yell at em to get out of the way so I could leave =p

First day I had it, one dozen teenagers were surrounding it debating the various attributes of the car.

Most common comment is, " Man . . . that car is . . . YELLOW." I have the lightning yellow.

Best comment was yelled at me as a I drove past a guy hanging out on his stoop, "Man, that is one PHAT ASSED car." That had me rolling in the aisles.

This may be the best metaphor I've read on this site. I remember that transformer envy all too well. Have it right now actually waiting for the rest of this year to go by. :(
