I went to the dealer today for service and visited the sales floor. My salesman informed me that they sold 4 RX8's Saturday. He said things are really starting to move now - lots of lookers too. I think it is the commericals. How are things your way?

Well, I'm a looker for now and soon to be a buyer in a few months. Once I get the GO, then I'm all for it! But I need to be notified of one that meets the requirements for the 8 I plan to get.

I'm looking to order an 8 for delivery next spring, none of the dealerships in my area have any in stock. I'm having trouble deciding on a color since I can't get a close look at one. I like the titanium but I'd like to get a look at that brown interior close up before I put in my order.

I'm not sure. My dealer has 38 which seems very high to me. But I'm also starting to see more on the roads. I passed a blue 8 on the highway last Friday. Note this was the first time I've ever seen another being driven. I picked up mine in August and until now have seen one in a parking lot and a neighbor has one I've seen in his driveway. Besides the blue one on friday, I saw another one on Saturday and another one on Sunday. Three different 8's on three consecutive days. Threre coming out in droves.

Over here in Burbank, i have seen a few more 8s on the road. just the other day, i saw a black GT with the polished wheels downtown. The previous week, i was driving around and another Black GT owner gave me a thumbs up.

In Irvine, when i visited there was a red one at the gas station that everyone was staring at. i was driving my miata at the time, so no one looked at me. :) . but there were a bunch already there.

the really cool sighting was where my dad lives...at the hospital where he works, there are 4 other doctors that have 8s. so at one point they were all there at the same time.

I have seen very few of them here in Dallas. Since I got mine in September I have seen maybe 5 total including in parking lots and on the road.

More and more are coming out, but I just hope that the 8 stays a rare gem to all. The reason is, well, I figured that if the 7 is as rare as it is right now, I wonder how it will turn out in about, say, a couple years from now.

Finally saw another one on the road...silver. My dealer can still only get orders....nothing to stock...he says even if a deal falls through for one, he sells it within 24 hours of it hitting the lot.

This is in Southern OH.

i understand how you feel about having the 8 remaining unique and rare--as in avoid seeing them like Accords and Civics--but if it does not sell well, there is no hope for other rotary powered vehicles, as in a sweet new RX7.

it would be nice to have my FD be considered "rare", but i would much rather have a new RX7 to go along side the FD and the 8...with the miata hanging out as well. :)

IIRC by definition, due to the rotary engine, the RX-8 will be a "limited" production compared to other mass-produced vehicles.

I wish they had a white RX-8 i would get it off the bat.

Well, since it's rotary powered, then it should be considered unique as oppose to the majority of the cars you see out there----piston powered. I just know that I'm getting my rotor powered vehicle soon

My dealer got about twelve all at once the week of Oct 6th thru 12th. I was told this is 3 monthly allotments coming in all at once. Apparently the holdup was at the port, where port-installed accessories (such as appearance packages) were so backlogged that the wait for dealers to get their allotments was out to 90 days! So my dealership asked that they get sent without any port-installed accessories, and BANG, they all arrived at once.

Anyway, I was down there Oct 20 and they had sold 5 of them. Still have yet to see another one on the road though, which is cool... I *love* all the looks the car gets, like WTF is THAT? WOW, I LIKE IT!!!! :D

I feel that people are anxious to get their cars such as, the 8. But I've been reading that people don't see 'em out on the streets as much. I figured that the people that do buy the 8 have it as their weekend car and not as their daily driver. Either due to the mpg or just some other issue they have. That's why I think that we don't see any on the road on an everyday basis. I also am aware that the car is barely new but, if sales are heating up and people are buying 'em left and right, we should at least see one to come by with. I've still yet to see one, but having the 8 as a weekend driver is not my way to go about it. I'll be takin' it out every time I go out that is.

Went to my dealer today for the 5K miles service & found out they just got in 2 full truckloads of RX-8's. They have sold 17 since the beginning, which is not too shabby for a dealership servicing a 120,000 population city.

Most of the ones they just got in were GT's, and they are asking $500 over MSRP.
