I wanted to put up the new XM Satellite Radio System in the car, but I did not want a permanent mount. Later on I will have a high quality solution and I have never had this type of system so I wanted to test it out first. Also I could test it in my other cars and decide if it works well for us.
I did not want to substantially modify the interior so I came up the follow layout that works really well.
This is the finished product Pictures follow:

This XM kit Roady came with everything I needed to set it up. The new micro antenna is very powerful. Knowing that I decided to place it inside during the testing to see if I could get the signals well enough. I quickly connected everything and found that I got a pretty strong signal there. I placed a piece of Velcro on the back dash behind the rear seats between the speakers on the smooth plastic ledge. It was center Left to Right just below the rear lip where the window meets the ledge. I put Velcro on the back of the antenna and secured it there.
I have metal tinted window and the darkest possible. I found it did not present a problem. Signal strength was still ok.

I took the wire and threaded it through the rear center console panel.

I then threaded it between the Center Console and the edge of the rear driver seat.

I then pushed the antenna wire underneath the silver trim that covers the top side of the center console.
I pushed it along the console trim to the front.

I then pushed the Cassette tape wire and the power wires underneath the trim so all three main wire exit the trim about the same point.

I put a small piece of Velcro on the base and wire a small piece around all three wires from the trim and secure it on the dash

I then put the brace up. This was hard because there is no place where it fits square with the back of the brace, which supports the controlling module for the sat radio.

I found a small section on the plastic trim just to the left of the load button. ¾ of the back of the brace will fit and it is very secure. I just a thick double sided tape and the post felt very firm there.

In this position I can see 99 % of the center Dash and 99 % of the controller. It is easy to make sat radio selections and work the controls of all the consoles in this position

I got a double lighter for a radar or cell phone charger.

Put the color décor on the controller and I am up for business. I really like the position I can see it and make changes without any problems. The location is very firm when you push the buttons to change the controller.

just an aside, if you convert to gif/jpg you can keep a much larger image size and still fit under the 100k limit.
edit- but that still does look really neat. cong =)
