The car hit a telephone pole I think. Must make the designers of the car, as well as us fanatics, cringe whenever they see things like this. As far as the designers, I think they'd feel pretty good about this. See how intact the passenger compartment is, esp the front seats? And check out the crumple zone just forward of the windshield in the profile shot of the car... I'd say everything performed just as intended to keep the pax safe and cozy. He must have hit a curb or something as well. mikeb 10-20-2003, 02:39 AM OMG looks like someone got it bad ninedeep 10-20-2003, 10:10 AM There is a white plastic tubing that is sticking out of the back....the wire from the telephone pole cut the rear end and left the tubing jammed in the car. Form the pics its hard to tell but if you look at it in person you can see where the cable went through the trunk. I wonder if insurance will total it? The passenger compartment looks untouched. That's what it's meant to do. Glad to hear the people are ok and to see that the design is solid if the time ever arises.
