Today I was driving and all of a sudden the lights on the center console started to flicker. The led display also started to act up showing weird patterns. A couple of times the entire radio and all lights completly turned off. It seems like it happens when I hit bumps etc., however when the center console went out the air kept working like normal when everything else turned off. Anyone have similar experience with this? Any information would be helpful cause I would want to avoid spending hours at the dealership.

The same thing is happening to me. My RX8 is a 6speed 2005. The issue is that is not happeing all the time. If any body else has information please let me know.

 

you might want to check the ground in back of the radio somewhere it might be lose

 

+1 and not just ground, but any loose wires. Did you remove the center console for any reason (ex: upgrading the radio and/or speakers)? If so, then that would be a larger reason to check the wiring.
Looking at an electrical diagram I wouldn't expect a relay issue since the audio unit is going off the ACC relay which is also feeding the cigarette lighter, your navigation system (if you have one), and your power mirrors. If these other devices work fine, then loose wiring or possible short would be my suggestion to look for.
