it was in gt3. im guessing it will be in gt4. especially considering gamespot.com has screenshots of the rx8 in gt4 i think

Hehe. Since it's going to be 3 weeks before my home equity line goes through, and I can even begin to think about actually buying a car, I dug up the old GT3 to play and get my RX-8 fix. Bah, the car is in the shop, but not available to purchase yet. Denied again :(.

i do believe they'll also have an rx-8 LM edition, but given the competition it'll be up against, i can't see it being much better than say, like a clk LM edition in gt3

grrr i want ps2 now.. my roommate had it through college so i was able to play GT3! ima try to trade a friend my gamecube for PS2 for a while

The one in GT3 is the prototype version of the RX-8. It doesn't have the vents behind the front fenders. I kinda liked the prototype's look better. It felt more agressive. However, the gearing of the car is out of whack. It would be cool if they have the Mazdaspeed version in GT4.

the way to win the 8 in gt3....you must win the NA race in the amateur circuit..or errr yea.the circuit after the beginner...you must win all the gold in the NA race to win...

I have 2 8's in GT3... ones pretty stock and the other is just a wicked fast beast, the handling is amazing

The rx8 in GT3 is just too fast. I ran like a 13.9 with it bone stock, and when I modded it I ran like a 12.9. It lets you mode it to like 393hp, so I'd say that's definitely inaccurate. Either way it's still cool to have one in a game so old, but you really can't win any races with it in professional series.

GT4 is comming out in Oct/Nov 04, as long as it doesnt get pushed back AGAIN!!!!!

I will own this game the very first day it comes out.. Perfect timing for us northerners tho.. right about the time that the driving of the 8 becomes extremely limited due to weather!! :mad:

For fun take an RX-8 in GT-3 and try to win the Trail mountain endurance race. The only mods allowed are tire upgrades. It can be done pretty easily with an RX-7 but it just a little harder with the RX-8. The NSX is hard to bet per lap, but he has to come in for tires all the time.

I got my RX-8 in GT3 to around 500 HP.

ive had gt4 reserved for over a year now! my receipt is fading :(

The 8 is definatly in GT4, the product manager (forget his name) drives an 8. They had a mini feature on all of HIS cars at the studio. There were several shots of his 8, I forget which issue but it was in OPM earlier this year.

If I recall correctly, you can't turbo it at all and the mods were very limited.

In GT3 you have to install components in the correct order, just doing a port polish out of order will result in HP loss instead of HP gain. It takes some getting used to. The CEL (disc read error on ALL discs) on my PS2 came on so I had to send it in, wish I could remember the best install order for you. Sorry.

one of the tricks in gt3 was to start with an oil change before you drove the car...always gave 2-3% increase in HP like magic...thats my .02
