....and I couldn't be happier. Ever since totaling the old '94 Jimmy I've been car hunting. Looked at the RSX, 350Z, RX8, never got a chance to check the WRX though. Even tho the 350 and RSX are very nice rides, they just didnt' give me the thrill I had when I got in the REX. I've had it for a total of 30 hours now and still can't get over the fact that it's actually mine. I've only owned one brand new vehicle and that was an '89 Nissan Pulsar XE, which I will say never had a problem with it in the 5 years I owned it.
So the REX is my first in over 10 years. I was able to work the system and get it for $31,600 out-the-door with the GT package.
Mind you I have been silently scanning the boards, originally to see if there were any major malfunctions ppl came across. Regardless of the questionable mileage ppl got, regardless of the misinformation on the power issue, I never swayed.
I'm not a racer and never will, but for my type of driving there's plenty of excitement for me. The methodical sound of increasing rpm out of the RENESIS is sweeeet. I had some 6-cyl camaro next to me at a light, not intending to prove anything, nor do I have to, but as that camaro jumped(and I use that term loosely) off the line and heard that ungodly turbulence of six cylinders mashing away, it made me think of some high school thrash metal garage band lacking in musical talent as I sat relaxed and locked into my leather listening to the New York symphony just in front of my feet. A sound so persuasive and reassuring has me wondering what I have been driving all these years.
Now that's out of the way, let me ask a few things on caring for it.
What is most recommended for the leather?
What is most recommended for the dash and plastic?
Has anyone used those ArmorAll wash wipes, that provided the outside isnt' trashed, you can pretty much just wipe it down?
I don't particularly like armorall for interior and have heard it's actually not good for it anyway, that it will have a tendecy to dry out the plastic and possbily cause cracks sooner than normal.
Aside from the minor negativity on these boards, the majority of you who sang praises is what egged me on to hold fast.
Thanks
