Just curious: why didn't you go for the front air dam?

Besides the fact that it's $350....

I don't like the fact that it makes the front of the car look lower than the sides of the car, especially since I am not getting the Mazda side aero flares (which I in no way like).

The thing is... the lowest accessory you can get are the front flares/mudguards; which you have. That's why I asked. I thought that having those + the front air dam would make the front look quite nice. (besides... what's $350? Two days wages?)

I decided to balance out the front air-dam with rear + side flares. Have you seen the side flares in person or just net pics?

I've seen them in person, and I'm not a fan. If they went further up the side of the car instead of stopping so abruptly, I might be inclined to get them.

Also, I was thinking of getting the existing black dam on my car painted red, rather than adding an additional piece.

Funny, I am actually on the original "wax" job from the factory (according to my dealer...).

Very nice. Love the color. I have mixed feelings about the front/rear mud guards, though. Could you post some closeups of those please?

I only have the front mudguards. There are rear aero flares in the back, which in my opinion look better than the rear mudguards...the flares keep to the lines of the back of the car.

I don't have any closeups, but i can take some tomorrow.

Get some Zaino on that 8! I cringe thinking of my dealer waxing my car :D

I too prefer the cleaner look without the areo package or the fron air dam.. and the Tail wing makes it look like a celica :(

I think it looks better with your setup than the original appearance package setup. I don't like the front air dam either. They make the 8 look fat. Yours is perfect IMO.

I actually think the front air dam looks too much of an after thought, and only goes well with say a mazdaspeed kit where the side panels stay the same level as where the front air dam would go. but with the side aero flares tapering off at the middle, I think it looks weird for the front to go lower again.

the front air dam will balance your car out

With the front air dam, the RX-8 looks like a good candidate for a fancy Phone Car design. Ever seen those? I like it a lot, but I prefer RX8Lover's setup better coz it creates a sharper form for th RX-8. Thick from the back and narrow to the front. Heck, evern without the skirts (like mine), the RX-8 already looks hot!

also, the more I look at the MS kit for the RX-8 the more I don't like it. Well, I liked it at first until I saw pics of a Z and 8 with nismo and MS kits. Kinda strange how the 8 looks like it's trying to be a Z. Maybe it's just me.

Does that give you any clues as to why he's banned? I am amazed as to how many post this received since his banning. I have beem following it for some time and am simply amazed that not one of the posters, excepting the long time members, have not noticed this.

As far as permanency...how many times must a member be warned to be nice before it becomes permanent? I'd have to go back and count and I am not sure I can count that high without a calculator...:D
