So I'm on peachtree industrial blvd in Atlanta waiting to get onto I-285. I glance across and see a Lexus I-300 beside me at the first light. Our light turned green and the Lexus took off, apparantly racing the 150 yards to the next light.

At first I'm thinking to myself 'what an idiot'. Then I realized we were headed into a long curve and an entrance ramp to the freeway. Light turned green, and let's just say he couldn't quite handle the corner as fast as the 8 :) I hit the speed limit and slowed down, and he tried to recover some pride by racing off, but instead managed to trap himself in the slow lane behind a minivan, with another car beside him. I waved as I drove off, still only going the speed limit. Gotta love morons.

I love doing this to people. I'll get a mustang up my car's ass as I'm getting onto an on-ramp, and then I'll just leave them in the dust as I take the corner at mach 2. Closest I let myself get to stop-light racing. The handling and road grip on the 8 is just insane.

I am still waiting for my 'big opportunity' such as y'all described above.

I know what you mean mikeb. Every now and then I get this urge to really race, but common sense prevails. I'll *never* go street racing, or push this car to its limits. The control systems have yet to be turned off by me. THe great thing was, I didn't have to push the car hard to leave the idiot in the Lexus behind. It's reasonably slower in a straight line, let alone around a corner like that. Just seeing him throw his hands up when he realized he had boxed himself in trying to speed off into the sunset and salve his wounded pride made my day though. He should have slowed at the speed limit like I did.

That's the fun thing about it- I know I can take the corners faster, but I just don't. I've only made the dsc light come on once, and that was turning a corner up a hill at a stoplight in the rain- was completely accidently. And as soon as I hit the highway, I slow down. Annoys the crap out of whoever you left behind on the on-ramp too.

Don't you just love leaving people behind on the on ramps? Leaving fast cars behind is good. Somehow, leaving all those SUVs ****waaaaaay*** behind is even better. What's up with SUVs anyway?
