nycgps 10-18-2007, 12:10 PM Wow, I hate fuxking hit and run !
What is the matter of these people ? imagine the same thing happen to them, what will they think ?
You should get the cops to sue him for hit and run (if possible)
tajabaho1 10-18-2007, 12:14 PM omfg that is a fucking huge ass scrape + dent!!! holy god that is bad, wtf was he thinking? and he tried to run!!! OMFG
cornholio135 10-18-2007, 12:18 PM It happened on Pirvate property, So no suey. but I will never park next to that @##!! again. He was driving a Big Dog Daddy f150 x cab. Said he did not see my car. But if you look he didn't like hear the noise he just followed thru... :banghead: here is the damage to his stinkin':FIREdevil truck.
NgoRX8 10-18-2007, 12:26 PM damn, glad u caught him before he ran off...plenty damage...
cornholio135 10-18-2007, 12:30 PM He is lucky he is an edlerly man. :bottom: :greenchai :Kill2:
tajabaho1 10-18-2007, 12:40 PM yea, I cant tell from the pic whether your wheels are bent inwards or not
cornholio135 10-18-2007, 12:44 PM I eye balled it from the back the negative camber looks the same on both sides. Also removed rear tire to hammer out fender to drive it to the body shop and it drives OK...
Socket7 10-18-2007, 02:15 PM It happened on Pirvate property, So no suey.
uh, why not? Just because you are on private property doesn't mean you're legally protected from lawsuits when you destroy someone else's private property.
If someone can fall and hurt themselves on someones private property, then sue the owner of that property, i don't see why you can't sue this guys ass for being unable to see a PARKED CAR.

Chris 10-18-2007, 03:56 PM I can tell that you are an American...
Ive actually heard of several cases in Europe that are even worse
Elara 10-18-2007, 03:58 PM Why in god's name would you SUE someone over something that's already being fully covered by insurance? Ugh.
dmc27 10-18-2007, 03:59 PM Bummer. What an ass - like he didn't feel or hear that kind of impact?
^^^ you don't think some D-bag that tries to hit & run deserves to be nailed to the wall?
:uhh:
dmc27 10-18-2007, 04:01 PM Why in god's name would you SUE someone over something that's already being fully covered by insurance? Ugh.
To teach the a-hole a lesson about NOT fleeing an accident scene.
It's irrelevant, though, since the guy didn't actually have the chance to leave.
alz0rz 10-18-2007, 04:02 PM This is the 3rd thread I've read where the 8 is involved with a f150 in negative ways..
what's the deal!! :icon_no2: :icon_no2: :icon_no2:
altspace 10-18-2007, 04:06 PM Ikes! Did you have damage in that area before?
New Yorker 10-18-2007, 04:09 PM So glad you caught him.
Hey, any of you older people… is this "hit & run" thing much more common today, compared to, say, 30 years ago? Sometimes I wonder if adults are way less mature and responsible today—but maybe this is the way it's always been.
dmc27 10-18-2007, 04:13 PM At 31 I probably don't fit the bill for "old" (I hope lol.), but considering the fact that people in general struggle to even be polite to each other on a daily basis (on the roads & off), I'd have to guess it's much more common.
babohan 10-18-2007, 04:14 PM dumb that sux.. oh well life's a struggle!:/ gl mate
jones75254 10-18-2007, 04:23 PM Oh man, i hate F150 drivers...and i live in Texas. So, i pretty much hate everyone else on the road. :suspect:
Socket7 10-18-2007, 04:44 PM I can tell that you are an American...
Wow, you can read my profile. Good job. It only says i live in California right below my user name on every single post i make.
Cody Red 10-18-2007, 05:38 PM I can tell that you are an American...
i'm hispanic, but wtf does that have to do with anything?
glad you caught him. who cares if he's older, he may not have seen it but I'm sure as hell he must have felt it.
glad it's being covered.
Uncivilizedracer 10-18-2007, 05:54 PM Damn truck driver
jeffe19007 10-18-2007, 06:00 PM Yeah, truck drivers are a good reason for gas to go to $7 a gallon for a year or so. Will clean those trucks off the road nicely.
I need to use the 8's 'super handling powers' avoiding large trucks way too often.
I may as well ride a bike. Which at $7 a gallon, I might need to do!
cornholio135 10-18-2007, 06:18 PM Apparently there was a previous repair. I bought this 8 it was a one owner trade in. had it about six months when it went for the engine recall this time last year. 20k on replacement rotary. drives like a dream. Thanks again to the @#!~! that hit me:rant: :icon_no2:
Socket7 10-18-2007, 06:58 PM You'd sue in small claims court to get your deductible paid for by the party who messed up your ride. Also, your insurance premiums could possibly go up, so you could get compensation for that as well.
Why should cornholio pay out of pocket to get damage to his car repaired when he wasn't even in it, or in any way responsible for the damage? If the guy stopped to leave information, it'd be a different story; but this guy knew damn well he caused several hundred dollars worth of damage and rather then do the right thing, he tried to run away.
It's the silver rule. Do unto others what they would do unto you. If he tried to hit and run and failed, he should pay for every cent of the repairs.
shaunv74 10-18-2007, 07:09 PM + it's a criminal offense. You don't sue him. You send him to jail...
9krpmrx8 10-18-2007, 07:19 PM Dude are you in San Antonio? I swear I have seen that car.
cornholio135 10-18-2007, 07:57 PM Yes live in Converse work in Alamo Heights. The AH cops were the ones to take the report.

That's what I was wondering because it looks like bondo under the paint.
Socket7 10-18-2007, 08:02 PM + it's a criminal offense. You don't sue him. You send him to jail... \
Yes you could press charges, but sending him to jail doesn't get your repairs paid for. For something like this, I'd rather have my money rather then his ass in jail, and I don't think this kind of hit and run qualifies as the kind of hit and run they send you to jail for.
Easy_E1 10-18-2007, 08:08 PM Looks like the Bondo Fairy has been there already. Sorry to hear about your mishap.

nycgps 10-18-2007, 08:09 PM I can tell that you are an American...
has nothing to do with American or not, he was trying to RUN. How responsible was that ?
Why in god's name would you SUE someone over something that's already being fully covered by insurance? Ugh.
People can sue McDonaldo's hot coffee being too *hot*.
of course the insurance wants to close this case asap. but if its close, that means it settled, so no sue.
but if its me, I will sue for sure.
lone_wolf025 10-19-2007, 12:09 AM Ok, so dumb question but how would they repair the rear fender? Rebend and bondo? Is it not possible to replace the section, including the roof?
Mikeluvs8 10-19-2007, 01:40 AM ouch!!!! that hurts my eyes.
Socket7 10-19-2007, 12:19 PM Ok, so dumb question but how would they repair the rear fender? Rebend and bondo? Is it not possible to replace the section, including the roof?
The right thing to do is get a whole new panel (including the part of the roof) and install it. My old honda accord had the same sort of rear quarter panel design that ran up onto the roof. When it got hit in the rear quarter panel we had the entire panel replaced at a significant cost.
It's probably cheaper to hammer it out and bondo it. Less new paint to match too.
dmc27 10-19-2007, 12:25 PM Push for the full replacement since it's being paid for by his insurance company. (He did have insurance, right?)
If the insurance company BSs you about that option, talk to a lawyer yourself. Don't assume your insurance company is going to work to get you the best option. They're out for themselves and their stakeholders, so once the other company is paying for repairs your insurance company won't bother spending money to ensure you get what's best.
cornholio135 10-19-2007, 02:15 PM Talked to the Body Shop today. Estimate for Insurance Co is $2700 and some change. they are replacing the rear quarter panel and the entire wing door.:ylsuper: :jump:
fitz75 10-19-2007, 02:26 PM Texas is a state that you can file for diminished value... although since there was previous damage, I'm not sure if you'll get it. But worth a shot. Are you going third party through the Ford's insurance? Glad you caught the Ahole.
cornholio135 10-19-2007, 02:37 PM Yes the Old man has Met Life. They have accepted full Liability. Already have a rent-a-car.
fitz75 10-19-2007, 02:41 PM Yes the Old man has Met Life. They have accepted full Liability. Already have a rent-a-car.
Push for the dimished value than. Don't settle for just the repair. You have a very good chance of being successful...
CTrx8 10-19-2007, 03:10 PM heck, it's texas - shouldn't that be the death penalty? :)
Razz1 10-19-2007, 06:29 PM Is dat by hangin or shoot'n ?
BlueFrenzy 10-19-2007, 08:45 PM Sorry to hear about your damage. I hate those F150's ... there are a ton of them here in Calgary and 75% of the time, the owner doesn't use the vehicle for hauling, etc ... instead they use it for commuting and groceries. My friend from Ontario came over to visit and he was amazed at the sheer number of pick up trucks used as a daily driver.
Ever Hernandez 10-20-2007, 12:34 PM Is dat by hangin or shoot'n ?
Why let him have it that easy? crush his balls, brake his legs then stone him to death. Go old school on his ass.........
Seriously, sorry about your car man.
