just picked up my titanium grey rx-8 two days ago and boy am i loving it! the more and more i drive it the more it feels like it was made just for me. here are my intial thoughts and reactions after having put around 200 miles on the car.

EXTERIOR: awe inspiring, jaw dropping. the lines on this car are carved more beautifully than the sexiest woman on earth. it is so unique, new and refreshing, it sets me apart from all the other cars out there and makes 30-50k BMW's look blander than piece of celery. i also get so much attention in this car it is unreal. i drove to the local starbucks yesterday and i was quite embarssed as every single person in front of the store stopped to adore my car, with many of them peering inside and giving it a thorough walk around while i was inside the establishment. the appearance package is enough to keep my happy for a while.

INTERIOR: just as good as the exterior. the tachometer centered gauge cluster makes me feel like i am driving a porsche, and its illumination schemes never fail to amaze me everytime i drive the car. digital speedo throws me off sometimes, but im getting used to it. all the details really make me appreciate the interior such as the see-through sun flaps, and the unconventional e-brake design. the seats are very comforotable, long trips are no problem in these babies! my eyes are pleased everytime i lay eyes upon my dash or anywhere in my interior because its so beautifully designed.

ENGINE/TRANS/HANDLING: car is still under break in so i have not seen anything over 6k rpms. however, from my experience so far, this car feels very very perky at any gear at rpm's at least over 3,000. the flat torque curve makes it feel like it can get up and go and any given moment. the exhaust note is great, i cant wait to hear/feel 9000 rpms! the transmission is what i am really in love with. the throws are so crisp and clean, it makes shifting a pure joy and i find myself downshifting every possible time. the clutch modulation is awesome, i can shift rather quickly while mainting an automatic transmission feel to the car. havent really pushed the car in the handling dept., however the car feels very stable in any corner and the susp. feels like it is set up perfectly for anything the street can throw at you. (not advocating racing around city streets).

to summarize most of it i am becoming addicted to this car, it is the coolest/funnest/neatest car on the planet. sometimes after turning off the car i can feel my heart spinning in a rotary like fashion. i love this car.

Those feelings won't fade quickly. I've had my red 8 for three months and I still stare at her (as do others, but I'm not the jealous type). Protective yes, but not jealous.

After break-in, when you wind out the gears up through 5th and you're doin' a 100 mph, the smiles are like breathing, you don't do it on purpose, it just happens.

Welcome to the club!

thanks for everyones support. hehe maybe i got a little carried away with my metaphors.

seeing as how the rpms climb so quickly to 5k.....i can only imagine what the last 2-3k feels like!

i do find myself smiling alot more these days :D :D :D

now i understand why other owners would not give up their 8 unless their keys were pryed from their cold, dead hands. VIVA LA ROTARY!
