Mercedes road car of some kind. Photographed in a gas station on the way to Vegas. Driver of the flatbed said it was used in a Batman film????? and he was transporting it to Vegas to be displayed in one of the casinos.

Have searched the net for details, but come up with nothing. It's really bugging me now.

Not a clue, but damn that rear panel looks familiar. Nice find!

I'd say def a film one of special, although I didnt know another batman movie was in production (I dont keep up tho :)).

That big middle body to wing thing look sgreat, but airodynamicaly probably sux.

Looks like it'd create negative pressure for the rear air intakes just ahead of the rear wheels.

Not due out for a while. Directed by Christopher Nolan, who did Memento and Insomnia - bodes well. Christian Bale seems like an odd choice for the role, but odd choices do work well sometimes - cf. Spiderman.

X-Men 3 is in the works as well

Wonder if they'll use the RX-8 again - and put in a proper car chase in this time! Cliched I know but I love em...

They re-used the bike and the plane so mebbe.

As for batman, shame its by Christopher Nolan, even with his skill I dont see a comic franchise film doing that well (criticaly).

Then again I think X-men have been good so far. Spiderman was horid, Judge dread the worst :)

I'm sure he said it had been used in a Batman film. I think he was talking rubbish to be honest.

It was definitely not a new car, as in, had not been built for a film in the future.

And how on earth do you get into it? :) The doors aren't much bigger than the wheels, and are gullwings by the looks of it.

Maybe it was used in the original Batman movie (with Michael Keaton). The cabin area looks kinda like that batmobile. Maybe it'd be more recognizable with all the body panels on it?

Found it! I'm not sure if this is actually the car rather than a replica (though I doubt it), some reports say 1 was made, others say 2 were made. There is also a V12 Ferrari powered version of the car. As far as I can tell the car somehow made it's way to the states after the prince from the united arab emirates sold it. I believe Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was the person that commisioned Lotec and Mercedes to build the car and he probably has the most extensive car collection in the world. The guy can basicly call Ferrari or any other auto maker and get get a completely custom car made, and he does this regularly.

There was an old C&D article on the Prince as well that some of you might remember. I'm trying to find the article but can't, if I recall he has multiples of cars like the Ferrari F40, F50, McClaren F1, 959, etc. He also is responsible for and donated the land for the F1 track in Dubai, mainly because he's a car enthusiast, he also wants to have a place to race hiw own cars... Rumor has it he recently ordered 35 F1 race cars for his personal collection since the old F1 cars he has sitting in his car catacombs are previous F1 champion cars driven by the likes of Shumacher and past F1 champs.

Whoops, almost forgot. It's a Lotec C1000.

yeah that's the guy that in the 80's bought 6 aston martin lagonda's so he could have one from each of the 6 guys who hand built the engines.

They look rather different IMO, it actually looks a lot more like other Le Mans style cars than it does the CLK GTR. I think it even shares more similarities with the Zonda than it does the newer Merc.

It could have been the Catwoman movie that is currently in production.

Thanks WRX, How on earth did you go about finding it?

So I guess the Merc badge on the front just signifies having a Merc engine - I see. Thats what through me off the trail.
