Hi all,

I completed my search over the last 15 minutes. This doesn't seem like a repost.
Here is the picture of the Renesis 2 engine:
http://www.mazda.com/motorshow/technology/power/renesis/img/pic_renesis.jpg

It is a larger version of our engine. They say it is more fuel economic on the low revs, and much more horse power on the high revs.

The car shown is said to have clues from the Kabura and Ryuga, as well as other Mazda DNA. It will be the first all new Mazda Rotary Coupe since the third-generation RX-7 launched in 1991. The car is said to have a particularly distinctive exterior design, with lightweight, compact and high-output next generation RENESIS(2) rotary engine. It will epitomize Mazda's spirit of sports car, as the RX-7 won popularity among the customers since its 1978 launch. The last RX-7 model (FD3S) ended a 10 year production run in August 2002, and is sometimes still regarded as the pinnacle of Mazda Engineering and Design.

Looks like a run of the mill Infinity sports car:

It's been done before

Next Generation RENESIS (Rotary Engine 16X)
In developing the next-generation RENESIS, Mazda made a thoroughgoing revision of engine dimensions including the trochoid rotor housing, adopting a longer stroke and larger displacement of 1600cc (800cc x 2) aimed to raise thermal efficiency and boost torque at all engine speeds. By employing the Hydrogen RE design policy of a direct injection system and aluminum side housing, as well as various other measures, we are further promoting the rotary engine’s merits of light weight and compact size.News Source (http://www.rotarynews.com/?q=node/view/949)

Unrelated concept car from Mazda:

I'm not a fan of the new Mazda look, mostly because it doesn't look Mazda. Too often when a corporation wins the great public product support, they decide to reward the public by changing something that is perfect and they already enjoy. This looks like a HR GIGER car, or like an Evangelion cartoon car.... not either inspirations aren't cool, just not very Mazda.

(Although the Kabura... is HOT HOT HOT!)

Now that is a sexy vehicle... very Mazda-ish.
Oh Mazda, why did you let them (Honda) beat you to the punch?

Thoughts?
OK SO THE BURNING QUESTION IS.. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE BETWEEN THESE CARS BASED ON LOOKS ALONE, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU PREFER TO DRIVE?

Ah HA! I knew this was mentioned before on this forum. I don't mean to steal anyones thunder! ;) buuuuut I have pics!

The article sighted there is also linked inside this thread too.

Damn..... I LOVE the front bumper of that Honda. But.... since it's honda and not Mazda... the side profile is as ugly as a Toyota Celica. I'd compare the Honda CX-Z to being married to a super model, who has absolutely no breasts. (Not that there anything WRONG with being married to a super model with no breasts - I would be so lucky) - only difference is (watch me dig another grave) I can afford the 50k sports car.

OK, I've tried my best to merge the Honda designs into a Buddy Club RX8 front bumper (closest similarity).

What do you gentlemen think?

Kind of odd ... I prefer the normal buddy club front.

I agree about that cool Honda but really dislike the mazda concept car. Looks to much like a baleen whale, imo.
